The only bad points for me are the lack of dedicated servers (a problem for almost every PC gamer on MW2) and no coop campaign/zombie mode (which in all fairness isn't that bad as we do have spec ops mode)

I wouldn't call Modern Warfare 2 shit, but it wasn't really anything special. The removal of dedicated servers was simply bullshit, and Infinity Ward really screwed over the PC gamers, but the whole thing isn't worth shitting a brick over.

Was the game innovative? Certainly not. Was it a fresh steamy pile of feces? No. But herein lies the issue I take. If game developers can just repackage things they've already done, hype it till their faces turn blue, add some controversy (No Russian my ass. I've seen worse.), and end up pulling in $550,000,000 in the first 5 days, there would be no reason for anyone to bother actually making a decent game.

Also, someone said something about owning all the current gen consoles and a gaming PC? If you have a 360/PS3, why buy the PC version of MW2 when you know the lack of dedicated servers is gonna piss you off?

I suppose I'm a bit ambivalent here. Infinity Ward needed to be criticized, but the shitstorm need not have happened. All I can say is that CoD 7 had better be Vietnam based.

HAHAHA...Well anyways, I was two inches away from purchasing MW2 on my pc...literally, I decided not to because to be honest i don't like the feel of the mouse. But anyways. I agree mw2 did NOT live up to expectations, I've been following the series since cod 2. And it got better until cod 4 then just plateaued.

For everyone saying that they should stop the series...how about a big fuck no? For one, it's not even a SERIES as one would have it. For one there have been only two installments in an actual original plot so far mw1 and mw2, and secondly the other 3 games were all historical based... not really series as it was just a large player in a particular genre, ww2 fps.

They dropped the ball on mw2, i agree, for everyone, crap servers, glitches, and terrible hosting...it's not unplayable, it's just not as fun as the previous games...I can tell...mainly because I just HATE hardcore search and destroy now, when it used to be my favorite game type.

Thermal made life for everyone too easy, weapon accuracy is ridonkulous the fact that i can't have Ninja AND sitrep neuters your ability on offense as well. either A: get murked by someone with heartbeat or B: raped by explosives lying everywhere.... They basically made stealth in HCSD impossible.

urm...thermal isn't all that...try cold blooded my friend =) its for perk 2 =) and i find the stealth to be ok, not the best, i can easily sneak around and kill 5 people with a knife, while been where the enemy is =)

Drop in fire power is too great for normal matches, And uhh that's all I use for hardcore perk 2...Yah i know i've been playing the game since 2001, not an idiot. Thermal just took the skil out of sniping. Seriously all you have to do is scroll across the screen til you sa bright white mass.

The modern warfare 2 hate is perfectly justified, it's the sixth call of duty game (not counting expansions) and for some reason morons gobble it up and shower it with awards. It did nothing new, took out features and cost more than previous titles, and the worst part is that people though that this subpar game is somehow the best EVAR!!1

As someone who is primarily a console gamer, I think PC gamers have every right to be disappointed with how much Modern Warfare 2 was downgraded over the original.

There was absolutely no reason for it. Modern Warfare 1 had maps large enough for 32vs32 player matches, people could host their own servers (which they would do, which would in the end save IW loads of $), and stopping mod support on MW2? something that PC games have had since the 90's? wtf

This is just a case of Infinity Ward pleasing the butthurt console fanboys who always got the lesser versions of games.

PC gamers have been spoiled elitist brats for a long while now. Seems like they all feel they should get the Team Fortress 2 treatment. (Or at least the ones petitioning against this game.)

Fortunately companies seem to be favoring console gaming, which I always felt more immersive anyway with vibration feedback and superior graphics. It's a good shooter, probably (no experience) improved by the mouse and keyboard interface and people should just accept it for what it is: a console port. A near direct one; no privileges are on the consoles that isn't on the PC. They're just complaining they didn't get the extra stuff? Boo-hoo.

More on topic yes a lot of the hate is deserved because IW fucked over the people who bought the game whe nthe franchise started and no it is not elitist for wanting something that has been there in all PC games since the begining.

EG.1) What if Sony decided to charge for all online services would it be fair to ***** and moan about since you have always had everything free online?

EG.2) Would it be ok to complain if Microsoft decided to up it's online sub price by a $/euro/whatever15 a year?

EG.3) Would it be ok to complain if Nintendo released a patch making all normal Wii controllers useless and forcing people to the Wii+?

To answer all those for you yes it would be ok to complain that is why pc gamers were complaining. Price hike we could live take away dedicated servers, console commands, mods and lean and you start to take the piss as it took more effort and cost them more money to do these than if they had left them in. Since I was a paying customer of IW yes I have rights and as a person helping to keep them in business I want value for what I pay for. I'm not paying 60 euro of my money for a good but not amazing single player with a half done online from a game ported from a console.

People bitching because they are getting the same treatment as everyone else, then they ***** about the length of the campaign which was the same length as the one they loved.

Ok I can you are new here so let me say this make sure you know what you are talking about before you post. MW2 is terrible quality. It beat Bethesda in the, "Buggiest Game Of The Year" award. Why do they have to "Admit it's an overall good game", when IW has shown no respect for their community, half assed the game just to earn some quick cash, and removed everything that was fun about the original Modern Warfare, and instead added tons of things that are broken or just annoying. I'm not trying to flame you, but I see no point in forcing people to say they like the game, and admit it was good, when it really wasn't. But, this is all my opinion, just like when I say that there is no MW2. And, as I like to preach to the Heavens, everything Treyarch has done is more interesting than IW. But, I can see how this will be claimed as flame, as the millions of fans surround me and scream profanities at me.

Well, I figured if these PC owners bought the first they would like the second even if they don't completely admit it, I guess that was an unfair assumption, and I will take it out.

The only sensible reason for IW shitting the multiplayer that I can think of is that they're going to give dedicated servers and/or the other features in a DLC or an expansion, which would basically blackmail the PC players (okay a bit extremily said) to buy it/them so IW would make more $$$.
