Poll: MW2's multiplayer fundamentally broken?

Ive noticed the whole clip not counting and the grenade disapearing. But the real reason that I hate it is mainly because of the fact your a flimsly person, held together with paper mache and spit. I dont like the fact that you die in a single shot but thats really a personal prefrence. When talking about broken games, for some reason the damage when going through a wall or car is completly random. Sometimes it results is a kill even if you hit them in the foot, sometimes it dosent even register, and some times it only serves to alert them to your presence.

To be honest, I don't actually think the Match-making system works in MW2 (Or indeed, Halo 3 but that's another topic). I've only played a few games online but every time I go thrown in with at least 3 Level 70's and I was the lowest leveled guy there. My mate is a beast at MW2 though so he's the reason my XBox LIVE profile is currently boasting a Level 35, 1st Prestige. Anyway, back to the OP.

KillZone 2 has the problem that high ranking clans join in low level beginner matches, because they have unlocked 70% more guns and badges they have a nasty advantage, its called stat padding (idiots).

I've noticed your first complaint a lot of times. Me and my friend have noticed this about 40 times in the offline MP and numerous times online. It's fucking terrible, I fire my SPAS 12, he shoots me but the shots always vanish short of my intended target. And the same goes for head-shots, we are both certain that it sometimes misses head-shots just for fun.

Hmmm, sounds like Lag, most new games suffers from "continent" lag, guys in America playing against a host in the EU have a one second advantage, it bugs out the hitbox of players hence you miss shots.

As for the kill-streaks complaint, I never really noticed this. The bigger kill-streaks, like the Chopper Gunner, Attack Chopper, AC-130 etc etc, tend to become the target of about 2 people online and their missiles, plus Cold-Blooded helps a ton in these cases. Sure, a couple of times the person who called in said kill-streak reward tend to own the game and end with a K/D ratio of about 20:1. But the Predator Missile does have a bull-shit tendency to appear just above where I and my mate spawn at times. I call the Predator the "The Portable Spawn Camp Device". Again, my mate and I tested this in offline and it more or less spawned above each of us every damn time.

The best way to combat that is to run around the map in a circle constantly, it'll switch over the spawn points making it harder for campers to launch a predator onto a spawn.

Like in wasteland, no one ever goes past half way in the bunker, so the sniper picking you off gets his predator right on top of where you spawn after dying.

My opinion: yes it is unbalanced and occasinally broken. But I still play it because it's fun.

The best guns are available from the first level. I use MP5K and the Famas, I always finish with a positive K/D.

My problems with it are the lag, and the cheap builds, tactical knife sprinters aren't good but unless everyone has built a shotgun wielding class to counter them they're going to get a lot of kills.

IMHO I think that the main flaw in the game is the existence of kill streaks.... I know a lot of people are going to hate on me for saying this but please hear me out...

I don't see the idea of rewarding someone who is already clearly kicking the shit out of the other team with yet more ways for him to do so without at least giving the opposing team some form of retaliation....

As part of the newest Medal of honor beta test group, as I am sure many of you were I liked the way they did it with allowing offensive and defensive killstreaks, however i believe if a player on one side gets a kill streak reward then all the players on the other side should get somthing as well or fairness goes out the window.

No, the game is perfectly balanced and beyond criticism and if anyone else says otherwise, you should slap them in the face. Modern Warfare 2 is the best game ever, hands down, it is perfect!

Aren't ammo mags referred to as 'clips' fairly commonly?

I've always liked Call of Duty since it wa MoH, but i realized recently that I NEVER really liked the MP very much. I did really like the expansion to CoD1 (United Offensive). It made the maps much larger and strategic and that held my interest for a long while. (base assualt with tanks disabled was epic)

But I noticed that expansion, the best CoD MP experience IMO, wasn't even made by Infinity Ward. So I wasn't suprised when CoD2 came out with tiny killbox maps dominated by shotgun and smg chargers. The firerates and respawn times keep getting faster, and I become less interested. I played MW2 multi for a couple days, but I really only like co-op MP now.

Yes, I agree with all of the faults but since I'm a higher level (Level 58 Second Prestige) I know what to do, the hard thing is not trying to survive it's trying to find a competent team who knows how to call and here's the important part... not go outside when an AC130 Spooky is in the air or an Apache... Whenever I see someone run outside during those events I go 3... 2... 1... Told you so.

I've played it before and I agree with ur arguments but what really breaks the multiplayer is the unbalanced weapons and poorly design levels like they were specifically made for camping...

Alright, we get it. Modern Warfare 2 is a truly dreadful game. I hate like a brain tumor. Going through the Modern Warfare 2 stage is the gaming equivalent to passing a kidney stone. 20 threads like this later and I just couldn't give a flying toss anymore.

Just curious, but how long are we going to have to put up with people talking about MW2 and it's broken multiplayer (which I enjoy broken or not)?

I only noticed a few broken parts since the release, and they patched one of them some time ago... though it was funny seeing a buddy of mine running around with the care package knifing people XD

The problem I have with it is all the damn campers! Every time I spawn BAM! I either get head shot from a sniper or for some fucking reason I get spawn right in front of a guy who running around with a shotgun and BAM I'm dead again. Its in any game I try to play on that game and I just got tired of it and sold the game.

How in the hell can I even fight back when when I spawn I get head shot or by some random grenade some guy threw halfway across the map and it lands right by me. Well that reason is why I quit the first one. I was a grenade magnet some how. Most of the deaths I had were just a random grenade thrown at me lol. Though I have to admit...that was pretty damn funny now that I think about it.

I played before the DLC came out, not sure how it is now a days though. Anyways, I thought the game was fine, sure they're some hiccups and a few cheap things, but what FPS doesn't have that. And whats with all the hate with Campers, I don't notice them, maybe its because I played the PC version

Still angry as hell that you can't choose the map rotation though, I only care for Terminal. Every other map can go f**k itself

Modern Warfare 2 was not developed to be a competitive shooter. It was designed to be a shooter with lots of fancy gimmicks and toys to lure in lots of customers. Don't try and turn a game into something it isn't.

Your level unbalanced holds no argument, a lot of people cheat to get to tenth prestige so they usually suck. Not to mention it's not hard at all to level up, even if you do suck.

My main problem with this game is THE ASS HOLE CHEATERS who keep sending me messages asking if I want tenth prestiege, pay with paypal or microsoft points. If any of you are on the escapist, read this: WE HATE YOU, SHUT UP LEAVE US ALONE YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING CHEATERS!!!!!!!!

Now theres also the microsoft live problem that I cannot turn these messages off. To turn them off I need to block all communication besides people already on my friends list. If you work at Microsoft and you're on the escapist, read this: FIX THAT

Also I'd suggest banning the top 15000 players on the leaderboards, because they have cheated.

It's happened to me many a time. This game is annoying as fuck when online. When I play it at home with friends its really pretty fun.

I have been able to play online for four months, I have got just over 10 days worth of online play on MW2 and I can hold my own against most players.

I mean if I am playing against fatal1ty then I won't even get a kill but against Joe Bloggs I could keep up.

The only times I truly suck are when I am rushing about, sprinting round corners etc or getting spawn camped.

Just slow down, stay in crouch, slam a silencer on and stay alert.

Also "patrol", find a spot on the map, like a building and stay in it. Don't pitch a tent and get the BBQ on the go, move around the building or area. Helps me anyway.

As for the broken parts, there famous by choosing to play the game your choosing to deal with those faults.

Should they be fixed? Yes. Will they be fixed? Not a snowballs chance in hell.
