Just go buy ArmA 2.
Unless you thought ofp was too hard. Because that game was like Call of Duty on normal in terms of difficulty.

I have fun with this game. My AI's not batshit retarded, co-op is fun, and it's a challenging game. With its draw distance, you really can't expect amazing graphics, and since everything is easily identifiable, they're not terrible.

I hate driving vehicles, though. Maybe I'm just a terrible driver, but I prefer hoofing it.

Okay I'll go straight ahead and say it, I HATE operation flashpoint 2, I got really excited about it, on paper it sounds like my perfect game, so I went out and bought the fucking thing. It is absurdly shit, without a doubt the dumbest A.I. I have experienced on current Gen consoles. The graphics horrible, the combat slow, the missions boring but the one thing that really annoyed was the A.I. I even went onto hardcore mode after the first mission thinking it may improve the A.I. but alas I was too hopeful. Ooo what is this, my team mate has been shot and is injured, I know, I'll ask the medic of the team to heal the injured comrade. Luckily no more hostile folks were around at this point because the injured man had some mental defect that led him to believe the medic was going to hunt him down and cut him before cannibalising his still alive body. He never moved so fast, he just sprinted away from the medic causing the medic to chase him down before he gave in next to a tree a good 150m away. I thought maybe just a one off event, nope 6 times! Oh and a little advise, avoid letting team mates drive a car, even if you give directions via the map, they are even worse at driving than myself, if I was asleep and drunk. The two things your team can do with confidence, "Follow me" & "suppressing fire", the latter of which they take a shine too as they do rack up some kills even though I'm not wanting or expecting kills from suppressing fire just a distraction to cover my movements. Oh and it wasn't the difficulty before any of you fans curse my skill, I love hard games but this is not hard, just has broken A.I. and boring game play and terrible graphics.

Needless to say I traded operation flashpoint in the day after (which happened to be the release date for Uncharted 2) and needless to say I went ahead and bought a game which I can safely say is a great game.

Btw to anyone who puts yes on the poll feel free to tell me what's wrong with my view, or tell me why you honestly like it and aren't defending it for fan boy or elitist reasoning
Why would you make this a poll? Your stating your opinion it shouldn't require a poll if people were to dispute it?

Does IGN have polls on their reviews?? Does OXM? Does Pc gamer?? No

It is just a battle of wills between for and against.Polls define losers and winners and that is not the point of a review

blah blah blah hissy fit
I think my point is valid and when you 'preach' about understanding you should note I to am entitled to a opinion. You will notice how I DID NOT criticize your view. On another note, you appear to be making the mistake of confusing swearing with humor that is strictly a ZP thing however you are reviewing a game therefore I will allow some leeway.

P.S Your understanding is debatable.{}~?
And you did not criticise my view, but that I can deal with, that I will allow, but the point you made was worthless, and no that wasn't an attempt at humour, that was an attempt to show that I really do not like you. And you never gave an opinion on my little review, you just said what's the point in the poll.

I enjoy playing Operation Flashpoint 2. I have only ever had one problem with my squad AI and that was when one of my team just randomly went out of formation and died. When i failed and restarted it worked fine.
I would agree that visually it isnt the best game but i knew that when i bought the game.
One thing that does annoy me is that i can sometimes shoot a guy four times in the head with an assult rifle, he wont die then turns round and shoots me once and i die. Luckily this hasnt happened too often.
And most multiplayer games ive been in have suffered from terrible lag problems.
I still think its a fun game to play though

I'll start off by saying I love this game, although compared to you I do apparently have quite loose standerds ;-)

Of the issues you've ragged i do agree with the AI quip... Watching one of your colleages walk in front of your gun barrel when your shooting at a enemey is almost as depressing as it is infruiating. However, c'mon lets give the creators some credit, I have yet to see a game where the AI is a shining example of sense and intelligence, they probably have spent too much time on the scenary and not enough on your squad mates, but do you actually think there will be in the next five years a game where you couldn't criticise the AI? Even CoD 4 (the best game/creation/idea ever made by any sentinent being in the history of this or any universe) has faulty AI, your squad mates being totally unwilling to leave cover unless they follow you.

And if CoD 4 can't get AI right no game can, because that would suggest that there is a game which is in someway better than modern warfare. Which is impossible.

As for the combat and missions I agree that unless you have endless patience and self control they can drag, but don't forget the major selling point in this game is the fact that it is a realistic take on war. "war as seen through the lense" is the way they phrase it i believe. As anyone who has been to war will tell you, it can takes hours to move feet unless you want to die. (See Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, often troops spend hours lying in a ditch waiting for nightime or the enemy to get bored and go away.)

Missions, another point you got at are similarly hamstrung by the ardent need to fit totally into a fixidly accurate depicition of how a campange like that may progress. It isn't really going to be practical to make missions too varied, seeing as in the end you will always be on/near Skira. CoD 4 lets you play as both the USMC and the SAS becuase it followed a international storyline, where you can jump from country to country and indeed time zone to time zone, whereas OFDR keeps itself trapped on Skira. Oh and CoD lets you play as both because it is the best game in the history of existance.

If your going to reply to this post, do it before 10/11/09... I will be living in a cave and surving with the use of IVs for about 6 months after the release of CoD Modern Warfare 2.
