Hello fellow Escapists. I was recently in a heated discussion with a friend because she likes to take baths. I however, do not like baths as I don't feel like washing my face with ass-water. So, we had a debate about showers and baths for about an hour and we still havn't seen eye to eye about it. My question to you is, are you a bath person, or a shower person. Also, how often do you take a bath/shower. For a litte more discussion value, does anyone else feel like baths are more unhygenic than showers, or is it just me being crazy?

Personally, I shower straight after I get out of bed in the morning, go to Uni, hit the gym and then shower again. This is pretty much a daily rutine (something else which she wasn't happy with, apparently is is not normal to shower twice a day, it messes up your hair)

Thanks

I used to be a bath man but people like you destroyed my love of it but showers were easier, faster, and alot more relaxing, that whole bath = relax time? a Myth!.

Granted i run terrible baths, with the shower i can get a feel of the heat, but with baths its like im trying to boil lobster the lazy Awesome mans way.....i think i made myself sterile.

well you do take only one bath before you replace the water, i think so long as you clean the bath once and a while it doesn't effect it all that much.

Taking a bath is basically washing yourself in whatever dirt was on your body.
I feel they should be used for relaxation purposes only.

It's true showering too much wrecks your hair though - I keep it to once a day, in the morning before I go to school. I can't leave the house until I've had my shower, no matter how late I am.

I hate baths, wallowing in a pool of your own filth that gradually gets colder and colder isnt my idea of time well spent.

Showers are faster, hotter, and I feel cleaner after one :D

If alone, shower... w/ someone else involved, that kinda depends. Baths are best if you just want to chill and relax, not really for bathing... but in that case I'd rather find a hottub.

Also, showering multiple times a day can deplete your hair and skin of oils and what not and can lead to dry skin/dandruff, so I hear at least.

I'm a shower guy personally, I like being able to adjust the temperature to match my scalding-hot preferences mid-shower. I only use baths when I really need a nap in the middle of the day. Personally, I've tried the "two showers per day" thing, but I find I'm better suited to one a day. I always take my showers right before I go to bed as a method of winding down and thinking about my day, and I don't particularly care if people find it unhygenic that I only shower at night.

Showers. There's nothing better than a good shower. I don't like baths, they take far too long, and I have other ways of relaxing.

Funnily enough as I was attempting to write the word "relaxing" there, I accidentally spelt out the word "pot". It's true I guess, but funny also.

I love baths and hate showers. If I want water dribbling on my face, I'll stand in the rain. Let my body soak, completely immersed in hot water. I don't have any qualms about hygiene in baths. I love the sensation. I can just feel the grime and sweat roll off of me when I jump in.

In a bath with someone else? Cramped as hell! the sexy and romantic-ness(?) of it all wanes somewhat when you need to be wedged into it, have an elbow in your face and getting out requires serious co-ordination and planing...Unless you have one of those epic large baths, then go for it. Hilarious though.

I'm dying at the moment because I only have access to a bath. I can't stand the whole ritual of running the bath to get it at a reasonable temperature, and a bath will always take me 3 or 4x as long as a shower. I'd much rather just hop into a stream of water where the temperature is easy to control and get in and out as fast as possible while still doing an acceptable job of washing.

I'd prefer to shower in the morning before work if we had one, but not getting up super early dicates that I must take a bath at night at the moment.

I know what you mean when you say that showers are more relaxing, but the action of standing up also wakes me up. it's an interesting, and highly useful phenomena for me getting up in the morning.

Shower every day, but a long hot bath is just incredible.

My old bath was double sided (taps in the middle) and pretty long, but there *still* wasn't really enough room for both of us. It also doesn't help that she likes pussy cold
temperatures, so I spend half my time just feeling cold :(:(

If I actually want to clean myself I'll have a shower, baths are just for fun and they are very relaxing but very wasteful of water so I don't do them often.

I think I shower, but as I shower in the morning I usually sleep through it. I just wake up with wet hair and smelling like shampoo.

I shower twice a day and wash my hair every second day. I am being told that this is not normal too, but hell if I care. I feel like a walking turd if I don't take a shower after coming back from somewhere. Moreso if my hair is greasy.
I prefer a shower to a bath because it takes away less time, leaving more for my recently developed MW2 addiction and college.

With further thought, baths annoy the hell out of me, they are suffocatingly steamy and they generaly make me break out in sweat from the heat, to hell with them i say! .. or maybe theres just a certain skill to making a bath..Can you get a course for that?. Bath making 101?
