So recently I decided to upgrade my processor. Problem is, my motherboard has an AM3 socket which is...limiting. That means I need a new motherboard as well. Right now it seems like LGA 2011 and LGA 1150 are the best socket types for gaming. Most people say that 1150 is better if you want to do just gaming, because very few current games use more than 4 cores. But with the arrival of the new consoles, should I expect games to make use of more cores in the near future, thus making the 2011 the better choice? And what about the AM3+? Is that even worth looking at or should I stick with Intel?
