My question is this: What is the one thing that you feel you should have done years ago but never got around to it, to the point that when you finally do you were (will be?) embarrassed to admit it to anyone?
I'm embarrassed to say that I tried watching 2001...but couldn't get into it and haven't tried to since. I'm a bit more embarrassed by this than my strong dislike of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I just beat Dragon Warrior yesterday. Original cart on the NES because I wanna be authentic dammit. It was a long, long grind and I beat the game at level 29. The ending felt kind of anti-climactic to me honestly. I loved the thing though, because of how straight-forward it is.

Speaking of straight-forward JRPGs, I just beat Final Fantasy Mystic Quest yesterday as well. That one however isn't nearly as loved as the numerical Final Fantasy games but it's not surprising. It had to compete with 4 and 6 after all!

I pretty much have the word "nerd" stamped on my face, but I don't like Lord of the Rings at all. I'm not a huge fan of Star Trek either and I haven't watched Star Wars (original trilogy) in years and I don't own it on DVD or blu ray. I haven't seen Firefly or any iterations of Doctor Who. I also haven't seen any of the Marvel superhero movies that lead up to the Avengers. And I've never played a Final Fantasy game and I don't really want to.

Oh, and three months ago I actually had sex with another person. It was amazing.
Probably for all the above stated reasons!
True story: Not having seen Doctor Who has cock blocked me on two separate occasions. I need to watch that freaking show.

There's not really a level of nerd-dom I haven't visited, really. My problem is that I get bored easily and will wander off onto something new. I feel like I don't watch enough anime, though, and there are some classics I haven't ever really seen, like Tenchi Muyo. I would love to get into comics though, as there is a lot of hype concerning them now. I wa never really a big comics kind of kid.

I waited until last year to tell the Internet that if Firefly was nearly as polished as the Serenity movie, I would have enjoyed the series a lot more. The series was uneven, disjointed, very little character development and barely there. The universe from the movie was better put together simply because he did the ground work with the series. Groundwork, BTW, that should have been done before he pitched the show.

Spare me the correct order nonsense, the network's fault, or any of the standard excuses used to defend the series. Every single one of those excuses are only used by people that waited for the DVD to watch it. Fact of the matter is not enough people watched it when it was new and that makes it no different than any of the other brilliant but cancelled tv shows. Sorry, Firefly is not an exception because you willed it to be that way.

Haven't watched any of the Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings films. And I hadn't watched Arrested Development until recently (although that probably doesn't count as a nerd thing)

Watched Fight Club, SE7EN and I did something else that I cant remember right now, cant tell if it was watching another movie or playing a certain game. These aren't exactly nerdy movies but they are good movies that I felt ashamed that I had never watched them.

EDIT: Also, apparently The Big Lebowski is a thing.

I only watched Firefly this week.
Granted I was 9 when it first aired, but still...

It was awesome, by the way, one of the few things that lived up to the hype.
Is it better than Serenity?

I watched Serenity and really couldn't see what all the praise was for. It was sorta-kinda worth the time spent watching it but it didn't seem all that great.

Maybe the TV show was better.

OT: Haven't played Psychonauts yet.

I know I have an opinion, but to many people, it is the wrong opinion of the show. There are a lot of people who go all over the internet looking for anti Whedon speech and do their best to try and bully others into silence. I've seen it done in many places. At one site, if you posted a one sentence negative response about anything Whedon, expect to see about a hundred responses that were novel length saying why that sentence wounds them so.

Also, I've never seen FLCL. I tend not to look at things that you need a spotters guide to understand.

Well if this thread is about redeeming nerd cred I just like to point out I'm sorry to everyone for thinking Miyazaki was an anime and not the famous guy who wrote all those awesome stories. It really haunts me to this day.

Yeah it is, but I watched the movie just after the show, so I was still in fanboy mood when I watched it.

I haven't read OR seen LotR. Yeah. I also thought Chrono Trigger was mediocre. And I liked Final Fantasy XIII.

Confessions are one thing, but Chrono Trigger is sacred!
