I have always liked Scrubs, it was and still is my favourite show.
but I'm beginning to think that the new episodes are a bit... well dire compared to the older episodes, it's as if the writers strike has messed up the last season something awful!
The older episodes focused more on funny events happening at that time with a few of JD's daydreams or flashbacks, now it seems like Its JD's Daydreams and flashbacks with a little bit of what's happening at that time.

Is it just me that thinks this or is it a popular opinion?

Starting going properly downhill in Season Four. It's really really bad now. How is JD a legitimate character anymore? I liked the bumbling nerd, what is he now? Is he supposed to be gay? I don't get it?

I preferred the show when it focused on the comedy. I began disliking the continuing plots and the increasingly emo themes in later seasons. I was there to laugh, not for any other reason.

I guess I just prefer sketch shows or comedy shows with a one episode plot line.

My opinions on the seasons go like this:

Season 1: Amazing.
Season 2: Still excellent!
Season 3: Very, very good overall, although not matching up to season one.
Season 4: Still one of the best shows on tv, but isn't it getting a bit silly?
Season 5: You're ruining an amazing show. Stop. Now.
Season 6: Okay, not as bad as season five, but seriously, still nowhere as good as the beginning.

The problem with a drama/comedy set in a hospital is that it's so much easier to rely on bad jokes rather than actually create interesting storylines, resulting in the show eventually running out of steam. An example would be that episode which I turned off halfway through, probably in season six, where Elliot discusses one of her suicide attempts... only to have a fart joke interrupts her. A bad one at that.

If they can really push themselves as writers and bring the quality up, great, and I'm gonna be watching every week. If not... I'll still probably watch it, but only because I've seen so much on Paramount that not seeing the end will just feel wrong.

Mine would have to be the first or second episode, i love the way the Janitor in the first episode says "im watching you!" with the penny in his hand
and in the second episode when he tells jd to come to his house and point out things that are cheap :p

The new episodes have a lot more color than the old ones, but thats the only real good thing i can say about it. The new humor is getting to be more slapstick and weird. JD has become ridiculously metro-sexual to the point of being borderline gay, almost completely unlike the older seasons. The thing that bugs me even more is the Dr. Cox character. There have been so many character breakthroughs with him in the series, especially with his relationship with JD, but the newer episodes reflect absolutely none of it.

EDIT: I agree with TheBadass. That episode where Elliot talked about suicide, that entire scene (or series of scenes, rather) was so, so bad, the dialog and delivery were horrible, especially Turk's lines.

Urgh, he's also in the new Indy. Which is bad. The film and his performance. It was better when he only interacted with JD.

Anyway, back to some good sitcom action.

What the... Jennifer Aniston to make guest appearance on 30 Rock?

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

dude season 5 with Mandy moore is really good and up to episode 17 its awesome but it starts goin down hill after that, and as for the elliot suicide fart scene its not good i agree with everyone on that but JD's day dream about it is funny and season six good and bad episodes i watched all of season 7 on nbc but most of the episodes were bad with good parts

As I detest the "generic american comedy to suit export"-genre I voted the same. That is, I still cringe and do a draw with the remote that would put Clint Eastwood to shame.

It used to be my favourite show, but now I think they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. Perhaps they should think of wrapping it up. And quickly, too, so we remember them for the episodes we love rather than the new stuff they're rushing to shove down our throats.

I know, I just want them to keep it short.

Yeah like what they did with friends
They were planning a few more seasons but im glad the actors got greedy and asked for $1,000,000 an episode cos if they hadn't it would have gotten terrible
