Beg pardon, but how are you being ?punished again?? The fact that anyone can see your record? That?s hardly unfair: it just shows what you have done in the past.
No. Under this system in the RAW, they'll skip past warnings or probations for a new 'offense' and skip right on past to suspending me. That's silly. Very, very silly.

I'm put on probation permanently?
What the hell? I've been a good girl lately, and been doing my best to stay out of trouble.
I'm on permanent probation for something I did last year?
This new system is retarded, good job moderators you got it wrong, yet again...

As for me, I'm all for these new rules for the forums.
Same here. The only people that need to be worried about it are those who are unable to tell the difference between "having a possibly controversial opinion" and "expressing a controversial opinion the way a complete cockmeister might." If you can't engage in a civil disagreement, a discussion forum is far, far out of your depth.

Well its only been implemented because people don't seem to get the memo no matter how many warnings we set out. Even before I became a mod, I saw several users making low-content post after low-content post.

If you put enough effort into your posts and follow the rules then you won't have to worry about them.
It's more that retroactive punishment/repunishment is no way to run a set of rules. I already WAS punished for my misdeeds. Now I'm being punished AGAIN? That makes the rules seem far less legitimate overall.

'cause honestly, I am still being punished (under this system) for something that happened four-five months ago. And that was for feeding a troll (I'm sorry...)

I'm partially afraid to say ANYTHING. I'm prone to being a little abrasive unintentionally, and anything I can say MIGHT conceivably get me punished. As far as I know, this post will get me suspended.
Well we sure as hell can't give you a clean slate now. Too many trolls who have already received numerous amounts of punishments would be able to get away with more. That said, you have more on your record then one probation. You need 4 warnings at least to become eligible for suspension. You're not being punished a second time, you're just being warned that we our no longer being lax on you. Just as a judge is more likely to treat a repeat offender harsher then a 1st time one.

But the point is that at one time, you broke the rules. The timeframe of that is rather irrelevant, don't you think? Say something in the real world that people don't like, they will remember it. This is just a way of doing that.

Well, this is just great, now I'm never going to become a moderator thanks to this "Health" system.
That's just cemented that. Thank you ever so much.

My biggest complaint is that I'm being repunished for past infractions. Repunished, of course, in such a way that will NEVER go away. It can never be undone. This actually makes it one of the least forgiving set of laws/rules possible.

I'm pretty close to just throwing up my arms and 'leaving' over this.

That's a copout.
I was told by ZombiesInc and Greyfox that if I was good enough for long enough, I could eventually become a moderator myself, and yet.. now with this new health meter, that's just not going to happen.
Everyone will see my previous infractions from a year ago and judge me to be unfit as a moderator.
And people wonder why so many are leaving the Escapist.
Moderators have continually gotten it wrong and there's never any consequence for them is there?
Whatever became of the person that banned LegendaryGamer0 for their own predjudice? Hmm? I'll bet that person is still moderating to this day.
Every day this website becomes more and more fascist and I'm really getting to the point where I wonder why I bother anymore.
This used to be my favourite forum, but now... it's just died.

Maybe it's just me (and it likely is considering the amount of infractions I've received over low-content posting) but I would've thought that inappropriate and/or irrelevant replies would be the thing to look out for, not replies consisting of an image which is entirely on-topic and conveys precisely what the post would've if you'd just typed it out yourself instead of letting a pretty picture tell the tale.

[Edit: and must I agree to the rules every time I post now? is this just for a week or... what?]

I'd like it if the warnings only started from this day forward. I've got four warnings, most of which were from the past year. My most recent was a couple of weeks ago, where I was being a bit too agressive with the sarcasm. But for infractions a year old? Should those really still count?

Actually... Real world punishments expire. They go away. Your criminal record (YES, I AM COMPARING THIS TO A REAL WORLD CRIMINAL RECORD) goes away. This. Is. More. Strict. Than. A. Real. World. Judicial. System. I'll let that sink in.

There are times that I have felt personally victimized by this site's mod team. I have, on many occasions, reported people for trolling (in much more severe ways I must add) than I ever have. To no avail. I say something in an even slightly abrasive way, or is less than popular and I get the book thrown at me.

... You know what. Screw it. I don't care anymore. Bye.

That I understand though personally I think "low content warnings" are absolutely asinine. My problem is: the poor guy was testing to READ YOUR NEW RULES and you gave him a warning for it.
And there is a stuck thread on the front page of this very forum with a link to it. He didn't need to post to view it. If he feels he was mistreated, he can send in an appeal.

Because you got a probation? Really? Ultrajoe use to be banned and he became a mod. Don't you think you're jumping the gun a little?

Or, you know, people who are being punished ONLINE for saying things unseen people ONLINE don't like. It's like it's suddenly turned into Nazi Germany here (my personal opinion, I am not comparing the Escapist to Hitler's regime and I am also not saying someone is Hitler). This is not cops vs. robbers. We're all gamers and now IMHO you're turning it into "crimes." It's ONLINE. It's supposed to be FUN. Where's the FUN in this?
Why not compare it to nazi germany?
This website has indeed turned completely fascist and te moderators are ruling with an iron fist, with no regards to the consequences.

I have previous suspensions too. That's my point. They're over a year old but it doesn't change the fact that people will just judge me and not even give me a chance.
What ever happened to the fair and decent Escapist I used to know?

A text box is meant for text, not images. If you want to add them to convey your point further, fine, but you should be capable of writing how you feel on a subject.

Also, make sure you type "I Agree" like that. If it persists, I suggest taking it to the tech team.

You do realize that until a few weeks ago, Warnings weren't made public correct? We're not out to get anyone, we just punish those who have been reported or those we catch in the act.

Yup, mod-wrath really is quite fickle on this website.
They constantly get it wrong and no-one is ever punished aside from the victim. It shits me and before he got banned Pararaptor was trying to fight this, but he's gone now.
