Oi! You never took me up on that hug! *sadface*
Aww.. *Hugs*

Any ideas how this would work? Like a forum board or should there be some feature made specifically for uploading this kind of stuff?
*huggle* ^^

Just a normal forum, but with strict moderation of advertising rules. Maybe one or two subforums dealing with different aspects of art, just to make it easier to read. Have one for video game art and one for general art, even.

I don't like art. Never have. Don't see the point in having something you can't do anything with.
Video games are an art-form and you can do a lot with them. Same with music and movies. All art offers an experience.
Video games are not by default art. Some are absolute shit. Some are great fun, but I still wouldn't call them art. Some are just mindless violence.

As for music, find me a copy of Master of Puppets nailed to the wall of the Louvre and I'll concede that I like some art.
What? Music, movies and games are all art. As long as someone consider them to have an artistic value, I'd say that they're art.
There may be art in those genres but I don't partake of it. Demolition Man is a great movie, but it's not art. Avatar is a good movie, but it isn't art. Metallica's fucking awesome but their stuff isn't art. New Vegas is anything but art, but it's currently my second favorite game of all time.
Ok, so may I ask you who decides what's art and what's not? And how can someone be more qualified to define art than someone else?
I agree there. To me, any form of expression is art. Some are better in my opinion than others, but no less worthy of being labeled art.

Advertising only applies (I think) to for-profit pages. I've posted up links to my own websites all the time, and haven't been pinned for it because, well, they're just blogs and art portfolios. I'm not selling anything so what am I "advertising"? Unless I start paying my bills in pageviews, I believe that's within the rules.
That's a very important point. Glad you bring it up.

Meh I think that it would just make the mods have more work because there would be a lot of people just doing really bad fanfics. Also I dont think this sort of stuff has much discussion value whereas reviews, off topic and gaming discussion have.

There is a thread called "The artist in thee", you should check it out.
I'd second that, and, to be honest, I'd like to see it stickied if a dedicated subforum isn't feasible. Ok, so the facility is not necessarily part of the site's remit, but neither is giving general advice, which has its own subforum.

For those claiming there isn't any demand for such a facility, I think it's more than the current setup of the site is unfavourable towards sharing user created works to the point that most would simply not bother. As others have said, there isn't necessarily much in the way of discussion value provided, so it's likely that in Off-Topic, the only subforum which really accommodates most things of this nature, any thread with user submitted content is more likely to quickly vanish off the front page. There's no visible demand, I think, as the nature of the outlets allowed to forum users discourages any attempts.

I certainly think that enough forum users engage in the kind of pursuits that would make a subforum of some kind for this purpose worthwhile, and a presumably slower pace would make valuable feedback more likely supposing people who produce similar stuff take an interest in seeing what others have done. I'd expect it eventually develop more of a coherent community than the Advice Forum appears to have. I've wanted something along these lines for a while, especially since the recent User Review rules seem to shutdown any analyses, which, to be, would seem ill suited to Games Discussion too. Posting my thoughts here won't do much good, but hey, those are my thoughts.

I approve of the idea, but to answer your question, no I probably wouldn't browse it to often if at all.
