so now when the red lantern corps has got its own series there are (naturaly) going to be major new developments on the otherwise not so developed corps one of them red and hot from the oven (pun intended) a human red lantern (by my guess the guy whos grandfather was killed in septembers "red lanterns" #1 and was shown again and again in the 2 following issues...) is going to be interduced

now im not sure how to react to this because it changes (or at least might change) a few things i like about the corps:

1. if there is a human red lantern what will become of dex-star the correct red lantern of sector 2814? this is a character i wouldnt want to see killed or pushed aside because... well... he is a fucking cat with a power ring!!!

2. bleez and astroticus' strugle over the leadership of the red lantern corps. this is a fight i havent decided who im rooting for in yet and already it might not change (this new lantern is going to have an affect on that possibly as another competator as shown on another teaser...)

3. if there are going to be extra lanterns on sector 2814 will there be more in every sector?

4. with no human members the RLC was (unlike the GLC) always about aliens without our guys (there are 4 lanterns from earth on the GLC when there are supposed to be 2 from every sector!) and i liked it that way... even thou it would be interesting on how diffrent characters will deal with that (first non green human lantern not counting temporal stuff...)

even though i have a few more i think the post is geting to long so ill leave sme questions for you to ask :p

so... what do you think? yay or nay with this new lantern?

I love the idea of having a human Red Lantern, seems like it would make sense since it's powered by rage. Humans are a pretty pissed off bunch and we tend to have psychopaths every so often. Oh my god, I hope he's some kind of psycho!

First thing, he look like Jason Todd (the costume look like Nightwing due to the bits of flame remind on the arms me of the blades on Batman costume arms so it would make sense if it's him). Second thing, he look badass!

OT- I would assume it to be a second Red Lantern of sector 2814 alongside Dex-Star. I mean GL got 4 human members so don't see why the Red Lantern shouldn't be allow to have another member in the same sector.

Also Bleez and Astroticus are having a fight? Man I need to catch up with the rest of the GL story!

4. Well that's because some jerk decided to bring back Hal even though he was tragically born without a personality, and we were better off without him. Guy on the other hand, I'm not familiar with so I can't say whether having him is a good thing or not.

well its not jason (and in my opinion that would be a bad idea if he was) and he doesnt even look like him
he is a new character in the DCnU who was up untill now a side story for the RL storyline (in which astroticus gives bleez her intelagance back and expect her to be his second in comand...) whos grandfather was robbed and killed. his brother and him keeps arguing and in the end of issue #3 he tries to burn the killers house down and is stoped by his brother who then have a fight... (my guess his ring will come in a in either the 4th issue or the 5th and then will be the subject for the next arc.....)

while i hope they will not do anything bad to dexstar there are no other sectors with 2 red lanterns in them while there are at least 2 greens in each sector... (now more thanks to war of the GL...)

Are the red lanterns bad guys or guardians with a different light spectrum to work with?
What the f...? Seriously?

There is a Lantern Corps for each of the colors

Bad Corps
Red = Rage
Orange = Avarice
Yellow = Fear
Black = Death

Good Corps
Green = Willpower
Blue = Hope
Indigo = Compassion
Violet = Love
White = Life

EDIT: found this to help you [link]http://io9.com/5314908/what-are-the-different-lantern-corps-and-what-do-they-want[/link]

bad corps?! no corps are truly evil they are all ment to bring justice and/or order (exept agent orange who is just greedy)
- sinestro tries to rule the universe by fear
- red lanterns are trying to bring vengence to those who deserve it
- black belive (like the manhunters btw) that life has to be destroyed in order to restore order.
- and orange will side with who ever it pays to be with...

I'm pretty sure that the red lanterns don't care too much about sector boundries

Also, is anyone else confused about when Red Lanterns and New Guardians take place in relation to each other? Bleez is in both and she's intelligent in RL and a mindless beast in NG.

Continuity? (boom)

Also, It's "yea" not "yay"

well its prety simple: new gardians happens before red lanterns

you are probably right about the sector thing

and i know but yay or nay sounds better than yea or nay...

Probably, but when? The lantern corps were basically unchanged by flashpoint, and New Guardians seems to be taking place at the same time as Green Lantern which is set in the present. Is Red Lanterns some point in the future? All I'm saying is, a little context would be helpful. Maybe we could be introduced to a red lantern other than Bleez or Dex-Starr.

Sorry if this comes across as nitpicky, but I think you mean Atrocitus rather than astroticus. Just trying to help you catch a mistake.

OT: Wasn't Guy Gardner already a Red Lantern during Blackest Night? I know it was temporary, but it did happen. Or is that no longer in continuity? Honestly, I haven't kept up with any Lantern business since the reboot. Although I do think the Red Lanterns could make for good stories, so a human (and therefore theoretically more relatable) one is a good thing. Depending on how this works out, I may have to pick up some of those books again in the future.

well in the DCnU timing is a confusing thing it will be cleared out when what happened later
and we are going to be interduced to more red lanterns next issue...

you are probably right about the name i am discrafic...
and yea guy was a red lantern for a while (so were hall and mera) both on the blackest night and war of the green lantern and now kyle is runing around with 7 difrent rings... (dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing... anyway the design looks hedious...) but again those were only temporary this is going to be a red lantern human who will stay just a red lantern...
