I've yet to see a single spammy post from him.
...although my word may not count for much in some eyes...

I don't mean trolling or anything, just doing a shitload of posting all at once just to get a high post count. That's what I (and Mobius, too, by the way) refer to as "spamming" or "post whoreing"

I don't tend to look at people's post counts when I first meet them.
It's not until after that I go 'holy shnut! You're at 6k! (or 29, or 782)'
It's really mainly the forum games and group chats that have built up my post count, and I didn't even realize I was so close to Gonzo until practically the post before.
...And the question of spamming came from the guy who made a thread with the entire point of celebrating Bob, here... Hmmm...

Hey, he deserves it, twenty thousand is a damn big number. It's a momentus occasion, not only for him, but for the whole Escapist. Hell, I never even thought about somebody making 20,00 posts, next thing I know, he's at 19,999... and counting...

It seems to me in the past month or two there have been a lot more people joining our marvelous community. I don't know if this is just that I haven't been paying proper attention before that or there has been a definitive increase in people joining but it freaks me out a bit. Some people I recognize who have joined relatively recently are overtaking me exceptionally fast on post count. I guess it depends if you measure your worth as a person by your post count or not as to whether you care about this or not but it kinda weirds me out. Of course I'm all for new faces but it feels like this little internet club we've got is getting a little less exclusive... I'm off to become a freemason now I guess...

This place is not supposed to be an exclusive club. If it's an exclusive club, it's actually failing in what it's supposed to be doing.

However, I've watched content on the Escapist a lot in the past few months, particually Zero Punctuation and MovieBob, so I joined to be able to post my thoughts on my favorite series and on topics I see in your forums, and get to know the people around here.
