NCR, even though it broke my heart to have to destroy the Brotherhood of Steel. That was an absolutely brilliant game.

Thought about going independent for a bit, and am still not sure if I made the right decision. The NCR killed a lot of people taking over the Mojave - but I don't think that makes them inherently evil. It's the people who resisted, and I spent the entire end slide just sitting dazed, and wondering why they couldn't just accept it. Guess I didn't really understand the wastes. Probably a good thing I didn't go independent, then.
You know you can convince the Brotherhood to side with the NCR right?
And that was my choice and I was quite happy with my NCR character's ending. Things looked pretty bright.

I chose NCR myself, being in charge irks me, and you can't bribe robots. The NCR was just great for my character, since he wasn't exactly the best of guys, and a corrupt government that I can take advantage of beats all the other choices. That, and being in charge doesn't quite work. I know I'd just kill off a bunch of leaders and laugh at the chaos.

Went for Caesar's Legion because they're cool and make prags mad. The sexist thing is a bit much, but whatever man, they kill the crap outa everything with machetes and raiders don't touch them. Pretty bombass if you ask me. Ya so if I want to go for practical reasons, House is smug and a lousy ruler, Independent isn't that great, cuz well how the hell is a wastelander with no experience running shit supposed to lead a nation, NCR can't enforce anything and is on the decline, but the Legion is like the new, rising power.

But I played all of them and they're all pretty cool I guess. Just like Legion better, except for the dumbass gender politics thing, which sounded dumb even from it's conception(according to Van Buren documents there was some crap about leading a different tribe based on gender, I don't even...), even if it does have practical reasons in New Vegas, you don't throw that shit into video games like this.

I pretty much went completely independent by the end, killed off the crazy old man (or whatever he really is), ran off the NCR and killed off much of the Legion. The BoS I believe survived unscathed. The ending ended up being pretty harsh so I could have played my hand a lot better, still had fun though!

NCR the first time, as i applaud democracy (even if a bit...swayed/corrupt) over tyranny..although house does have a point...still don't like his over controlling freakishness to it all though.

still, in the VERY long run, house MAY have been a better choice...

Mr. House first time, my second time I had forgotten once I had gotten new games and when I came back to play it it kept freezing when I went to lower levels, and my 3rd time some error occured when after I killed Mr. House and did well exactly what Caesar told me to do and came back to the Fort all Caeser's legion turned hostile the first time, the second time I came in wearing Legion attire and everyone didn't turn hostile until I got into Caesar's tent, since the game saved there that profile was stuck in the same error and it couldn't proceed. It was annoying since I was trying to get the perk which you can only get if you eat The King, Caesar, the NCR President and Mr.House. Of course I already ate Mr. House and I was getting ready for the NCR President by doing Legion quests, but this happened.

Overall of course Mr. House, the NCR is too poorly run and the Legion aren't that attractive. Mr. House at least has a plan, plus I like efficient dictatorships, the NCR was just a poorly run Democracy and the Legion were just barbarians.

At first, I worked for Mr. House. When I went to retrieve the Platinum Chip from Benny after he fled to Caesar's camp, I told Caesar that I'd work for him, but I instead upgraded the Securitrons when he sent me into the bunker instead of destroying them. Naturally, I let him believe that I had done as he asked and lifted the Platinum Chip from the gate guard's pocket on my way out. Mr. House was pleased with my success and sent me out to gather allies for the upcoming battle, I did as he asked, and got the Boomers, Great Kahns, and the rest to pledge their loyalty. Additionally, I did some odd jobs for the NCR as well, telling them that the alliances I was building were for them. Then Mr. House asked me to blow up the Brotherhood of Steel, whom I was in the process of gaining the favor of. I took that as the signal that now was the time to put the next phase of my plan into motion, and used the Platinum Chip to disable Mr. House's security, disconnect him from the mainframe, and leave him to die slowly over the course of a year. I then played through the rest of the game pretending to be the NCR's best friend, up until I turned my robot army on them after winning the battle of the Hoover Dam.

It's good to be the king.

I think Ceasar's Legion is by far the hardest to start with, because you don't actually have anyone to trade with safely for along time... Though, being a total badass murderer has its appeal...

The NCR just have the problems inherent in all republics. They are the price of stability.

The Legion on the other hand is pants-on-head retarded.

Being from California I was almost dead set on NCR but when I met Mr.House i just loved the old mad scientist thing he had going on and wanted to learn more so ended up siding with him. But man it was hard to see the NCR slowly hate me more and more. But next playthrough will be different and with big guns too! (went more melee first time)

To be honest forming my own Empire was my favorite choice (YES MAN). NCR is more than likely most people's choice but while they profess good intentions, overall they where ultra-militaristic assholes and where the quickest to turn on you no matter how much good you did for them as soon as anyone even realized that you where doing good for other factions. Most people probably hated Caesar's legion as they had a strict code and treated women as second class citizens, but they were very loyal and even had a tolerance for alternative lifestyles (don't burn any brains cell figuring out that one). As for Mr. House, he was a very controlling, but he a bit more tolerable than the other two factions as he only seemed more about capital gain than controlling people's lives. I guess...
Considering Mr. House only gave you the option of killing the Brotherhood of Steel, I choose not to support the bastard, choosing the NCR the first time round and independent the second. I played it more than that, but most files I never completely finished the game, because of obvious reasons.

To me, House represents Objectivism (Libertarian + Capitalism), NCR represents socialism (Authoritarian left or right), Caesar's Legion represents totalitarianism and independent represents nothing.

I went with House, though I'm not sure why, it seemed like every fraction was wrong.
House was brutally enforcing capitalist society, NCR was brutally enforcing socialism and the Legion was brutally enforcing slavery. I guess I just found House less objectionable.

Independent. House is fine too, NCR not so much (Long Dick Johnson and all that) and don't get me started on the Legion.

I chose NCR but little do they know that I am actually the one in charge. If I didn't move a muscle they would die in a second. So New Vegas has a government BUT I CONTROL IT. Bwahahaha.

Seriously don't mess with the Invincible Courier who has a reputation of wiping out fortresses, nations and saving the day.

I almost always go Wild Card. It's just so tempting to give all 3 major factions the finger as you take over New Vegas.

However, on this playthrough, I'm siding with the NCR because that's the only way to get the best ending for most of the games factions.

I could see why some would choose House, but I can't possibly comprehend the rational with going Legion. Obsidian made them to Stupid Evil imo.

I flipped all of them off and said screw it to the main quest. Although I was partial to the NCR for the most part and was Vilified with Ceasar's Legion for a good while until I did some small quest in one of their camps so now they don't care if I've killed a few hundred of their guys anymore. I think I was at the point where I could chose which side I wanted to be on but I decided to blow it off until I'd done everything else first and then I got the Dead Money DLC, started that and never finished it so I couldn't do the main quest right now if I wanted too.(without starting a new character of course, but I'm not going to do that unless I'm starting a hardcore run)
