I have both and I play a wide variety of games on my handhelds as I travel a LOT for work. The DS is the console I find myself grabbing more often than my PSP as I just find the games on the DS to be more fun to play. Top games on my DS include,

Advance Wars DS/Days of Ruin
Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker
Zelda
The Phoenix Wright Series
FF Tactics
Castlevania Series
Geometry Wars
Tetris
Fire Emblem

There are a ton of different games I love on the DS, but games I HATE to play on the DS are racing games. I definitely prefer my PSP for those.

Anywho that's my opinion

Oh yeah, and I do brain age almost every day and love the sudoku puzzles.

The DS has consitently brought me joy since Trauma Center. If you already own a GBA get a DSi, if you don't, get a DS lite.

A few notes:
1) It's ADVANCE Wars, NOT Advanced Wars. The series is awesome (though I felt Days of Ruin to not be up to its previous standards) but it's Advance Wars.
2) The DSi won't play Game Boy Advance games, which is fairly noticeable given that a few DS games have special features if you have a certain GBA game in the GBA slot. (for example, you get a few bonus maps and wallpaper if you have Advance Wars: Dual Strike in the DS slot while the GBA slot has Advance Wars 1 or 2; and you can get Pokemon from the GBA games)
3) My personal recommendations for DS games are:
a) Advance Wars: Dual Strike and possibly Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. I personally found Days of Ruin to be the weakest of the Advance Wars series, but that's just me. I still consider the first Advance Wars to be the finest of the series, though they're all great.
b) The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series. I should warn that I found the second and fourth games to be weaker than the first and third (though the final case of the second game was pure awesomeness).
c) Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. I'll be honest and admit this was actually my first foray into the GTA series, so I can't really compare it to the others, but I personally found it to be quite entertaining and fun.
d) Contra 4. The Contra series fell on hard times after Contra III according to many, but this game essentially picks off right where it left off, straight back into the classic Contra gameplay. Which of course means the game will be very, very hard. Which doesn't prevent it from being great.

I also found New Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario 64 DS, and Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time to be fun games, though I don't recommend them as highly as I recommend the previous games.

The DS is a great handheld console, dont get the DSi if you want to play GBA games, just get the light, or wait for GBA games to come out on the online DS store.
Do you think they would? I didn't think that the DSi would be able to hold all of that. The only thing it has now is stupid little mini game things, and those are worthless to me.
I am 90% sure there will be an online store of some store, if you buy the DSi, I think you get like 1000 free points. Not saying there is anything right now, but I think a lot of online stuff in coming.
I knew there was going to be an online store, but I doubt that GBA games will be put on it. Gameboy and Gameboy Color maybe, but I doubt GBA.

The list of games coming out that I say on wikipedia didn't impress me. They just seemed like little diversion games, and thats not what I want out of my handheld. Others might though...

Yes, you should. Get a DS Lite, actually. And to the people who put 'Get a PSP', why can't he have both? (unless financial restrictions apply, obviously)

They kind of apply, and I kinda put PSP on the polls for laughs. I could buy both if I wanted to, but then I wouldn't have enough money to buy games for both of them.

Also, the PSP game library isn't my cup of tea. Except GTA, but GTA is just a slight diversion to me, and its not worth buying a console for.

If I wanted both, then I would have put it on the poll dude. :)
