100% Truth, and that list isn't even complete! So yes, a N64 is awesome, go for it if you manage to find a cheap one with proper controllers (they indeed break kinda quickly).

Yep, absolutely. There's no guarantee you'll like it, as with everything, but it's generally agreed that the N64 had the highest concentration of outstanding games of any console - though it didn't have the sheer number of games as, say, the Playstation.

You should get it, there are a lot of great games, most were listed in the above posts.
Chameleon Twist is a great game too.

All these games, plus F-Zero... and Ken Griffy Jr. Baseball was good. It was an awesome system, and a whole lot of fun to play.

Hey, when I was younger I had the original, bulky Playstation 1. And am looking at getting back into to world of slightly retro gaming.

Think the N64 is worth a go?

The N64 is my fav console of all time. Just make sure you get a controller that works and avoid the original Mario Party if you want it to keep working.

Bulky?

N64 is definitely worth it. Besides the obvious games that have already been listed, I highly recommend Quest 64 and Blast Corps.

Yes, oh yes! I got my Nintendo 64 many years ago and I'm still playing games on it!

To be fully honest, to me the N64 was the weakest console among Nintendos lineup.
As far as I know, the only games worth trying out for it already exists on other consoles already in refreshed and updated forms.

Mario 64 is already been released (and updated) for the Nintendo DS
Legend of Zelda (both Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask) already exists ported to the GameCube.
Conker is on the Xbox1
Killer Instinct was on Arcades and on the SNES

To me, the N64 was a Nintendo console I messed with the least with only a few handful of games worth playing. Well... that and the Wii but that's a complete different story...

Borrow/buy a 360 controller (you can use them on PC's) and just use an emulator. Minding the law of course...

It's hard to picture the n64 was a retro gaming platform now. D:

To answer your question, yes it was an excellent console. Some of the best games ever made were made on the nintendo 64. Some people consider it nintendo's last great console. I never owned a gamecube personally and I deffinately wouldn't buy a wii, but the N64 holds a very special place in my heart. I loved that console.

If you do get one the absolute must titles that you need to get are:
1. Mario 64
2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time
3. Conker's Bad Fur Day
4. Star Wars Shadows of the Empire (or any of the rogue squadron games really)
5. Goldeneye(maybe, this was more of a period peice)
6. Perfect Dark(same as goldeneye, FPS of the past just aren't as impressive these days)

I'm sure there are more but my memory escapes me atm. D:

Of course you should, retro gaming FTW! I never had an N64 and for that I'm annoyed, although I did play one at a friend's house so it was all good in the end :D
