i hate film sequels because they're nearly always a lazier, lower-budget film than the first. also the story has to become more fantastic to out-do it's predecessor and the whole thing winds up in a turgid mess.
with games i am still skeptical, but much more lenient. i'm always gunning for new, original, evocative, thought-provoking and engaging games but i don't mind sequels. most games are capable of having excellent sequels, and because the storyline and the script was never very good in the first one, the pressure is off to maintain the standard. then there's the money that's usually pumped into sequels. in fact in gaming, sequels very often surpass their predecessors.
besides, i'd like to see the difference in the amount of gaming sequels this year from the amount last year. and the year before and so on.
