That game alone almost convinced me to give up gaming. Almost.

No, it wasn't obvious, if it was obvious I wouldn't had to type 'Why.'tellmeimaninja said:Because it sucked. A lot.Dr. wonderful said:Why?tellmeimaninja said:Am I one of the few that hated that game with a passion?

I though that was obvious.
It did indeed, with a fully free, dynamic camera, full analogue movement and basically invented the free-roaming platformer that we know today. It proved 3D could not only be done well, but done masterfully, with total freedom to do what you want in massive worlds that had simply never been seen before.ReinofFire said:I dont really know if Super Mario 64 had any impact whatsoever on 3D gaming
Oh look, you still haven't read what I said.Treefingers said:You're wrong and your opinion is invalid.Woodsey said:How about taking your head out of your arse?Treefingers said:How about not making opinions on something you dont know anything about?Woodsey said:Haven't played it - but given how overrated the Mario and Zelda games are, I think I'd probably say yes if I had.
I made it perfectly clear I couldn't form a proper opinion, which is why I said I haven't played the game and why I haven't voted in the poll.
I merely guessed at what option I'd likely gravitate towards if I had played the game. Note that I said "I think I would say its overrated", not "yes it is overrated".
And having played Zelda games before (which were overrated, and not overtly dissimilar) I'm hardly pulling my predicted opinion out of my arse hole.
You need to play before you judge. That said, that probably wouldnt do any good as what you really need to do is experience OoT in the era that it was made. Yes, other Zelda games are somewhat similar to OoT, but they aren't the groundbreaking game that OoT is when put in context.
Your prediction comes out of a rather misinformed and sadly deprived arsehole.
You missed the point... I was trying to say that the achievement is nullified because that's what you do in Barbie Horse Adventures.Jeronus said:Was Barbie a young warrior on a quest to save the world from an evil force? As a role playing/fantasy nerd, riding a horse while on a quest to save the world was beyond cool. I also would bet any kind of money that Barbie didn't do it half as good OoT.lacktheknack said:That would have been a great point in it's favor, but you could do the same thing in Barbie Horse Adventure. I know that came afterward, but it nullifies OoT's achievement.Jeronus said:It is one of the greatest games ever. Why? Because you could ride a horse across a 3D environment for the first time ever.
