Poll: October 21st, 2008 in Gaming

As many of us are undoubtedly aware, there are three hot titles being released on the twenty-first of October in North America. So for you North Americans (Northern Americans?) out there, which game(s) will you be buying on release? And if you live in Europe or Australia, just select the option that applies to whichever game(s) you will buy on their very close release dates.

What about deadspace? That comes out on October 14th now, shouldn't that be on the list?

I'll probably still be playing Colonization or EU: Rome Vae Victis, which will be my only game purchases until Empire: Total War comes out.

My mistake, it's been fixed.

And the reason Dead Space isn't on there is that it comes out a week before the other three games and, for me at least, that's a paycheck in between.

That is true, there is a similar scenario on November 11th (again in North America that is), with Mirror's Edge, Call of Duty 5: World at War, and Fallout 3 all being released on the same date. My wallet hurts. I guess my reason for selecting October is that the 21st is closer?

It's no longer 'Next Gen', it's 'Now Gen'.

But I digress.

I'll probably buy none of them. I'll rent Fable 2 and Far Cry 2, wait seven more days and go pick up my pre-ordered copy of Fallout 3. Then I'll wait a few more days and buy Gears of War 2. Then I'll wait a little over half a month and get Left 4 Dead.

I thought he picked Oct 21st just because its a day when 3 highly anticipated games are being released. Hes not saying that the other games aren't as important, its just that specific date holds 3 games that many gamers will want. For me, gotta be Fable 2, my girlfriend reserved it for me =) Can't wait to pick it up.

My number one game for this year. Glad you mentioned it. So many others this year have been such a disappointment (TFU, Too Human, Spore, shall I go on). I have high hopes for Dead Space.

But from this list, I would say Fable 2. I enjoyed the first one, and am looking forward to some co-op play.
