Yea, ummm, the number of times I've been told I should name my kids Freddy because of my last name, I can relate to that.

Lots of pity, because I'm one of those people.

My name is Wyatt, and the first thing that about 50% of people say to me after finding out my name is "Like Wyatt Earp" or "Like the cowboy?" or something else cowboy related. It can get pretty annoying.

I believe I had to sit through a movie adaption of it. Worst. Movie. Ever. Holy shit...

Anyway, the zombie version of it is rather hilarious, you should read that.

Unless you're talking about a different book, which would be awkward...
No, I'm thinking about the one you mentioned. Is there any other literary figure with the name? I can't think of one....

In any case, indeed the movie wasn't great (mostly because of Keira Knightley, I suspect), and I do plan on reading the zombie version at some point. It sounds hilarious!
It's in the vein of the Zombie Survival Guide, where there aren't many outright jokes, more of a strict parody or send up. So just be warned, some people didn't particularly care for it, I loved it though.

Are we talking about a book that parodies a certain Jane Austen Novel?

There's an essay in the Globe and Mail today about a woman who can't decide what to name her kid. She can't call him James, because her last name is Jones, and then people might call him Jim Jones.

I also remember hearing about several people named Osama bin Laden who had to change their names after 9/11. I've never met anyone with a "famous" name, although I've known 3 Jim Smiths and 3 Emily Smiths.

Mann. My name is so freaking simple...and my dad had planned on naming me Matt...and he ran around the hospital going "Na na na na Matt Mann!" and my mum was gonna kill him.

Yes, in fact I think the author recently wrote one about Abraham Lincoln hunting vampires.
