so who do you think will win the super bowl?

As for the more discussion part of this thread, lets discuss why you think fans go into this place were their team(movie, game, ect.) can do no wrong and will always win?(or be the best)

I'm still rooting for Seattle but Payton is a seasoned QB who's been here before, and Seattle's D didn't do a good job getting to Kaepernick.

Whichever TV channel shows it and gets to rake in millions of advertising dollars.

I'm not sure anyone feels that way, really. Even Manchester United lost games during their reign at the top. There's a difference between always wanting a team to win, even deluding yourself that it might be possible (followers of the English football team, for instance, who resolutely refuse to accept that we're actually just a mediocre team), and genuinely believing that your team will always win.

Unless the Steelers are involved, this may as well be on another planet for all I care. One vote to aliens.

But Manning isn't as mobile as Kaepernick, so preassure can be done with les problems.

I'm currently going for 20-23 in favour os Seattle. While the match up of the number ones will be great, Seattle's offense I think of better than Denver's defense. Also the weather may play against the strong air offense of the Broncos.

While it's true that Payton isn't going to be rushing like Kaepernick but he's good and if Seattle lets him sit back there for too long he'll find a pass.

problem is Denver hasn't faced a good defense all year and their defense has only played offenses that the QB pretty much stays in the pocket.

I'm genuinely surprised the posters have taken this seriously so far. No one felt the need to state how superior they were that they don't follow American Football at all. I'm willing to bet that doesn't last.

Personally, I haven't a clue. I haven't paid much attention to this season since the Falcons pretty much died early on and never recovered. They had a great season last year and pulled a 180 on it this year. Just heartbreaking...

Anyway, part of me likes the Broncos as Manning has been to the Super Bowl before and won. He's an accomplished Quarter Back, whether you like him or not. But I'm also hearing the Broncos have a disadvantage due to the weather, which makes me wonder if that won't play a big factor.

I'm not sure if I'll watch the game or not (depends on if any friends wanna watch it), but if I do, the fact that I don't have a dog in this fight would make it more interesting for me. Much more fun when you don't care about the outcome.

Hopefully it plays out like that, I just wasn't all that impressed with Seattle's D against San Fran, at least until the very end.

Eh, it doesn't really bother me since anytime a thread about the other football comes up I make a snarky comment about not caring.

I'm surprised there hasn't been THAT guy yet. You know....THAT guy.

"Football? You mean hand-egg??? GWAH HA HA HAAAAA!!!!! No one's EVER thought of that joke! I'm so clever! BWAH HA HA!!!!"

OT: I've doubted Seattle this entire time and...I guess I'm going to do it again. I don't think their defense is as strong as the offense they are about to face. While Manning isn't nearly as mobile as Kap, the Denver line has done an absolutely sensational job all year protecting their vulnerable QB.

Wilson is still struggling it seems and you can't do that against a guy like Manning. You can get away with weak QB play against most teams but if you give Manning the shot, he'll put the bullet between your eyes before you even have a chance.

Seattle's one saving grace might be the coming weather. Lynch is one of the best backs in the league and slippery freezing rain (which is what they are currently forecasting but who knows?) is a passing game's weakness.

Eh, I don't really watch football but I am watching it this year with some friends. We're basically just using it as an excuse to get drunk. I voted for the Alien Overlords.

The Super Bowl was cancelled this year.
Any year the Giants (Or Jets, but the Jets are universally awful, so they don't count. Just like the Mets, but for Football) don't make the Super Bowl, it gets cancelled. Same thing applies with baseball and the world series, and hockey with the Rangers.
Instead of the Super Bowl, the nation hangs its head in shame.

I'm a 49ers fan, so I'm rooting for the Broncos something fierce for obvious reasons, but I do think they have the upper hand. Mainly because of experience. Last year, the Niners were the new hotness but they lost due to inexperience. Russell Wilson may become a great quarterback, but Peyton Manning already is and might be the greatest of all time. I'm going Broncos.

And while that Seattle D is rough, especially the secondary, Peyton can pick them apart or even dump off to Knowshon Moreno.

It's going to be close because the Broncos are sort of filling the role of the Ravens last year only with better players, but the Seahawks defense is terrifying and Peyton historically hasn't done as well in the snow. Part of it depends on how close the refs are calling the game, because while I'm all for hands on coverage, it might end up costing them a lot of yards if the refs like yellow.

Seattle.

Broncos are probably the best team in the NFL, but the Seahawks are a team built to go against a team like the Broncos. Kind of like Mewtwo going against a Gengar that wasn't poison typed. While the Broncos have the best offense, the Seahawks have by and far the best passing defense(and defense overall) and focus on a running game. So not only can they stop a passer, but they can keep him from coming onto the field in the first place. Bad weather also favors the Seahawks. The 49ers had the best shot of beating the Seahawks this playoffs because of their better defense and more run oriented game and they didn't quite pull it off. In fact, I predict that playoff game will be much better than the Superbowl game.

If the Broncos do win, I predict it will come down to their kicker winning it for them. He's a beast.

Actually, I think that I want the Broncos to win just so I can see the egg on the Colt's face. That'll be so delicious when the QB that they let go goes on to win the Superbowl. Mmmmmm~ So delicious just thinking about it.

I predict 30 - 20 Denver, but my predictions are usually so terrible it wouldn't surprise me if Seattle shuts them out to spite me.

I predict the seahawks winning 33 to 21 with 10 interceptions.

Yes, I am taking the achievement hunter prediction at face value.
