That's what I'm worried about. Most writing I see in films and TV shows is very cringe worthy these days, especially the real world references.Hammeroj said:I found the movie to be painfully PG-13, much to its detriment, most of the humor to be really uncreative and often cringeworthy, I found the winky-nudgy dialogue and real-world references to be completely out of place and painful to watch, and the film overall to be really padded thanks no doubt to their decision to further split the material.
You didn't like the rabbit sled?Sacman said:I thought it was pretty damned good...<.<
sure it had some issues in establishing a tone and there are way too many characters and Radagast was more than a bit silly... with the whole rabbit sled... but really, any movie that's almost 3 hours long and still left me wanting to watch more really needs to be applauded...<.<
I mean I was sitting there about half way through, checking my watch to make sure it wasn't coming to an end anytime soon...<.>
Well the fact that it's childish might be because it's based on a children's book... contrary to popular belief The Hobbit really isn;t a prequel to LoTR... it sort of just set the universe and established lore... of which later books were based... like Lords of the Ring and the Silmarillion... and that was unintentional...<.<bojackx said:I didn't like it. I thought too much stupid stuff happened for it to be taken seriously. I've never read the book so I wouldn't know how it compares to the film, but I just thought it came across as really quite childish. They always escaped from situations in moronic ways and I know it's only a minor nitpick, but everyone seemed to have the ability to survive dropping from any height without injury.
