It's true. I came for the yahtzee but stayed for the Doraleous and Associates. *sniff* god I miss that show.
You must be new to this place. There's no real reason to ask people this kind of question. And if you really wanted to know I'm sure the search bar function would have done you a solid.AnotherAvatar said:I know I did.
The more time I spend on the site the more I like it's content and forums, but straight up, I wouldn't have ever cared had I not spent the past few years watching ZP.
Anyone else with me and want to show your love for the hard hearted British-born troll with taste and high standards?
I think my post count shows how new I am, haha. And if I had just used search I wouldn't have gotten your perspective on the matter, which is very interesting.Swifteye said:You must be new to this place. But to answer your question. Yes. Most people. Like 80s to 70 percent. Do you know what this website was before yathzee came around? A private hub for gamers devoid of being in the spotlight or having to have bells and whistles and ads and subscriptions to pay for them.
Makes sense, good entertainment draws like nothing else. Sorry to rehash, I suppose I could have searched for an older forum and discovered that everyone and their mom love Yahtzee, but something about that just seems less personal.HeatproofShAdOw said:Oh it must be this time of the month again for yet another "why did you join thread". Seriously, almost everyone on this site (ALMOST) came here 'cause of yahtzee and joined because of the community. And other shows.
Nah, I think everyone's drawn to making this thread at one point or another. Just use the search bar in the future, or some grumpy escapist veteran will come down on youAnotherAvatar said:Makes sense, good entertainment draws like nothing else. Indeed! I do kinda feel bad for the people who liked it when it wasn't popular and private. I remember when someone showed off links that contained the actual design of the website from when it started. Then some users who were around to actually remember talked about how everyone knew each others name. I'm not a touchy feely person. But I felt bad for them. I'm a bit antisocial so I understand the value of a private place. But by that same token I really like this place it's the only forum i've ever stayed around to contribute as much as I have. Yathzee brought me here but it took several years before I gained the guts to become a member (I was very afraid of the mods. Still am but it's a healthy fear). I like this place.AnotherAvatar said:I think my post count shows how new I am, haha. It's a shame the site has gotten commercial, I remember when that happend to GameFAQs in my boyhood, and really pretty much every other gaming website really.
The good news is there are tons of other private hubs for gamers just lying around waiting to be made into the next commercial sell out site! =D
Couldnt have said it better myself. After stumbling upon this place, Ive quite enjoyed it. And hes not even my favorite thing on this site anymore, though I immensely enjoy ZP.ChildofGallifrey said:I was drawn to the site because of Yahtzee, but after lurking for a few weeks I joined the site because of the community.
I would like to say I mirror all of your statements exactly. Well spoken my friend!Swifteye said:Indeed! I do kinda feel bad for the people who liked it when it wasn't popular and private.
