I mainly joined for a combination of the older shows. It wasn't just Yahtzee, but a combination of Yahtzee, Movie Bob, and LRR. All of which still do great work.
Drawn in by Yahtzee. Joined up to join the pubclub TO GET RID OF THOES ANNOYING DAMN ADVERTS AT THE START OF VIDEOS. My internet is slow. It's not nice spending 5hrs watching a 30second advert play in tiny bits. Particulary watching the same damn advert again and again. It was also because 50% of the fee went to desert bus.
I know I did but then i realized how FUCKING AWESOME the entire loading ready run crew is. Everything they do is amazing and since they update more than once a week i think i like them more
A friend from WoW linked a comment with a ZP on youtube and I told him that I found them funny and send me to the Escapist.I checked weekly lurking in the shadows,until some forums discussions popped up and I decided to join the community.

I remember being home sick one day in high school and watching X-Play because there was nothing better on. They played a little preview of his Army of Two review, which is to this day one of my favorites (you get to wear creepy skull masks like its Halloween every day only its you giving out the candy and the candy is BULLETS). I've been hooked ever since.
Yahtzee is still my favorite thing about the Escapist, but I love the forums and other video series's too (Doomsday Arcade anyone? I miss Shanks and Lund...)

I came for LRR and stayed for the forums. Now most of the shows have grown on me, yet LRR remains a favorite of mine.
Came for the Yahtzee, stayed for the most awe inspiring video game related website I have ever had the pleasure to lay eyes on.
While I first came to this site because of Yahtzee, I didn't join up because of him. I ended up joining these forums since I was banned from the Gamespot/GameFAQ forums and thought this place would do well as a replacement port of call for my online forum shenanigans. In fact, I had gotten bored of Zero Punctuation long before I joined up here, so I cannot blame Yahtzee at all for why I became a member of the Escapist.
Like many, I frequented the site for Yahtzee (and Unskippable) and joined for the community (or rather, its many facets).
I watched a lot of Zero Punctuation videos and decided to give the forums a go. I don't mind the forums that much but find most of the members to be up their own asses.
Well ZP was surely a nice addition I came here for Unforgotten Realms originally.
Now I'm just here mostly due to pony chat, and all my buds there.

I wasn't exactly a Yahtzee fan, although I did watch a few of his comical reviews on some recently released games and found him entertaining. As I began to explore The Escapist site a bit more, I realized that this would be an awesome place to talk about video games with other people who like video games.
I was usually cautious to bring out games into conversations if they weren't the popular FPS or repetitive sports titles, but after joining The Escapist, I no longer fear any form of rejection or shame, as I enjoy playing video games and there nothing wrong with that.

I used to use IGN. I was looking at the inFAMOUS forums and I saw a thread that said "Funny inFAMOUS ZP." I said to myself, "What the hell is ZP?" I followed the link and the rest was history.
