You should know me better than that by now. I leave the math geek shit to the math geeks. Min/maxers are the lowest form of life in gaming as far as I'm concerned.

But I maxed BOTH Skillsets by making my int 9 at char creation by leaving str at 5 and dropping cha to 4 and and and and

It's not really minmaxing, insanely easy to max skilltree's in that game.

PS: Shotguns is 59, Laser Rifle is 29, but the Laser Rifle can be used at long range and is more accurate because there's no kick or divergence like with slug throwers.

I have played and enjoyed every genre of game that I know about. However, I mostly play RPG and FPS.

I guess that's laser?

I think if you're sticking to two genres that counts as laser focus, since I mentioned sports and strategy at the top of the thread (and when I say "strategy" I mean everything from Civilization to Total War to Age of Empires, but I don't like Blizzard's mouse-clicking GameFAQs-reading build-order-following contests.)

I play FPS, strategy, action-adventures, point and click, RPGs...
I avoid sports games, simulators and most fighters.

But I guess that's still shotgun?

I have to go with Shotgun, Lasers are just a little... non explosive. Its always more fun, in my opinion, to whatch your enemy's head blow up in a shower of gore than to just cauterize a small hole through their face.

After giving it some thought, I realised that in the last month I have played and enjoyed World of Goo, Audiosurf, Braid, Beyond Good and Evil, Dawn of War 2... But combined that was probably about 20% of my playtime. I think I've drifted between genres a lot. There was a period when I spent most of my time playing RTS, but that ended around Age of Mythology. In my console days on the PS2, I played a lot of 3rd person action type games. So I guess I have a lot of lasers... or a shotgun which fires lasers.

Edit: Isn't it great how many people have no clue what this thread is about?

I may be stupid, but what does the poll have to do with the original post?
I prefer snipers and grenade launchers.

On the discussion about 1337 which would take up too much space to quote i have this to say. If you play a game competitively, you can use words such as 1337. A sports game is equally hard if you have an equally skileld opponent. For all it's worth, you can can even be 1337 at pong.

As for the guy who says FPS, RTS and MMORPG's are the only non-casual games out there how bout fighters? (tekken, mortal combat, SSBB etc.)
A lot of MMO's can be quite casual, i don't remember WoW requirering much when it came to player skills back when i played it, it was more a matter how how long you grinded.

I tend to avoid RTS, sports and realistic racing, but otherwise I'll play whatever.

So shotgun?

I only play RPGs, with the occasional glance at random platformers. Laser like focus? I have it.

I voted Shotgun. While I often only play a specific set of games, they aren't often only from a specific genre. Often it's only a specific set of games because I can play few games for a long period of time without getting bored of them, so it takes me a while to actually buy something new. :p

But yea... "Shotgun", because while I most often play FPS's, I don't often turn down any other game, and I'm often relatively good at other types of games.
