I'm currently doing this on Minecraft. I started a new world with the seed as "Awesome" (just to see what it would be (so far it's not very awesome)). If I die then I have to delete the world. I also added the rule that every night I have to stay in a new shelter. I can't use the same shelter twice. It really ups the tension.

I've been thinking about doing Minecraft like this on hard mode. Would be veeeery interesting, and also potnetially very frustrating depending on how much I'd managed to build/stockpile.

Only games I've ever passed going iron man were Snake Eater, GTA III, Vice, and San Andreas...

Don't have the patience to go iron man anymore...

Nuzlocke Runs in Pokemon are very fun.
I add as many rules as possible, and the shit gets intense. Although I've managed to get into the Elite 4 with 4 Pokemon all at around level 65 because of the intense training I give them.
Nuzlocke feels too easy and overcomplicated to me. I've reached the 4th gym in Pokemon Blue without ever healing or buying anything. The only rules: Never heal the party, never buy anything.

At one point, my level 14 Squirtle ran out of PP for Tackle and had to use Tail Whip 40 times against a Kakuna. When that ran out, I Struggled the Kakuna to death, reached level 15, and learned Water Gun. I then kept going to Mount Moon, Cerulean, and Vermillion. I beat Surge with Dig, since he kept using X Speed rather than attacking.

I've tried it in Gold as well, but it's harder in that one because Falkner's Pidgeot knows Mudslap.

I might try it in later Pokemon games, but I'm guessing that Blue would be easiest. If I can manage to catch an Abra and then a level 1 Mew with a Poke Ball then Great Ball, I will be able to tank through the rest of the game. The problem is that I would need to start with Bulbasaur or Charmander. Perhaps if I skip Brock and teach Charmander Mega Punch in Mt. Moon?

I also did a no-deaths run of Fallout: New Vegas the first time 'round. Hardcore, no deaths, no spoilers. Sadly, the glitches were horrible near the release, and I had to not count deaths caused by flying untargetable deathclaws and mobs of 20+ giant radscorpions.

Did this in Dragon Age once, it was a real ***** :p
I died pretty late in the game, during the Landsmeet. That really, really bugged me.

I use to play on hardcore mode in Diablo 2. It was pretty brutal, could spend a full month leveling a character and collecting good gear, then get murdered and its all gone forever.
I use to have several high level Hardcore characters when I played all the time but I've lost them over the years.

Most fun was playing a Harcore Necromancer who was only allowed to do Curses. My best friend was playing a Harcore Barbarian who only had Shouts. He was on his third character when I finally kicked the bucket on our way down to Mephisto. After that, we decided not to limit ourselves in Harcore anymore. Such a shame.

Went through Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess without dying once, using the 'no boss heart containers' self imposed rule. Also picked up as few heart pieces as I possibly could.

Was pretty intense at the last battle. Almost lost.

Hitman: Blood Money would be interesting played like this. Being a stealth game, you shouldn't be forced to shoot your way out of trouble in twitch reflex shooty panic unless you screw up, but the AI in the very hardest mode is essentially psychic so I'd recomend the second hardest (where they're still pretty fucking intuitive; "Oh no a gunshot! But by the time I've arrived the only person here is another police officer with the standard issue police pistol hunting for the killer! Judging by the camera floating around that other guy, he's totally the assassin!")

Actually I've just made a thread about an Iron Man-esqe mode I've been trying in Red Dead Redemption, it's pretty fucking awesome.
Check out my thread in the games section of the forums and read up.

Demon's Souls Iron Man Mode......that was not fun at all.

On a side not, my Captcha was "Achievmable" spelt just like that. I love it.

OP, reading your post reminded me of this article I saw on Destructoid regarding New Vegas's Hardcore mode.

http://www.destructoid.com/no-clip-fallout-new-vegas-192379.phtml

Ignoring these nagging concerns to my sanity, I tossed together a new character, named him, selected a properly grizzled beard, and then sent him off to the most remote corner of the game, at the scenic Mojave Outpost. I dropped all my equipment save for a vault jumpsuit, a simple pistol with a single clip, and one bottle of clean drinking water. Then, finally, I set myself up with the following insane list of "hardcore" changes:

- Difficulty increased to its maximum
- Food consumption increased
- Water consumption increased
- HUD display turned completely off
- No VATS mode whatsoever
- Perma-death rules
Me personally, I haven't tried it yet because quite frankly, I'm quite fond of being alive. Oh, and I couldn't bring myself to commit to something like that.

I'm pretty sure that I beat DoDonPachi without continuing the other day, but I was pretty drunk. That doesn't mean I have to do it again does it?

I remember beating Chibi Robo and the Fullmetal Alchemist games without dying once in any of my first playthroughs. Of course they were pretty easy, so it's really nothing special.
