Mercury.

I wouldn't get rid of any of the outer planets. I like to think of them as World of Warcraft style Orb Shields for any extrasolar objects.

Well I would have said Pluto, but apparently *some people* have decided that it doesn't count. Assholes. Anyway, I'd pick mercury. What is the point of mercury being there? It's a ball of rock that has been quite literally seared and figuratively sandblasted by its insane proximity to the sun for billions of years. What possibly could be interesting in it? At least Venus is an interesting cosmological phenomena and Mars has some of the few instances of extra-Earth water sources and possible life, and the gas giants are beautiful and have provided huge amounts of scientific data. What the fuck has Mercury done for us? Wasted a few billion dollars on a few space probes and that's it. Way to go Mercury.

I'd blow up Saturn. Who does it think it is with those rings? Does it think it's better than us? Yes. And that is why Saturn must go.

For reasons that do not matter, one of the planets in out solar system *one that is not earth* must be destroyed. And you decide which one.

And Pluto is in here just for fun.

And you don't have to worry about stuff flying around causing damage, THEY will deal with it.
I chose the boring and most popular option of Mercury (among planetoids, still classified as planets), Since its closest to the sun. Besides, men are from mars, women are from Venus, and the next available planet after those which isn't earth is Jupiter, so.

I say it is high time we take that fascist pig Jupiter down. What a resource hog.

Uranus. It's just a plain old gas giant. Pluto is awesome, Neptune's orbit crosses with Pluto's and it's named after a god, Saturn has rings, Jupiter is fucking huge, Venus has interesting features, Mars is a good candidate for colonization, and Mercury is at least a rock, not just gas.
Uranus is named after the grandfather of the gods. It was uranus -> titans -> Olympians. Plus all gas plants have a rock core.

So really Uranus is more important then Saturn or Jupiter, because without it, neither would have its name.

OT:

I'm gonna say pluto or mercury. maybe Mercury, he's only a demigod.

... but he's also an element. hm.... and of course theres freddie mercury.

...

sorry pluto.

Mercury should go take a bath in the sun. The rest of the planets would be fine with out it.

I think we can manage without Mercury. I refuse to count Pluto as a planet because then we would have to add several thousands of planets to the system.
That would be AWESOME! Can you imagine the level of science trolling that would go on in Kindergarten?

I'd like to get rid of Uranus, just to end the awful jokes.

Or we could just change the name to Urectum.

In which case, I vote for Jupiter, just to see if there are any monoliths in it...

one of the far ones, i doubt we could actually destroy jupiter seeing as how fucking huge it is, but those farther out planets need to GTFO so we can see the rest of the galaxy or if someone is hiding behind the planets out there

I'll be honest: I clicked just hoping you'd include Pluto.
It deserves some kind of honorary planet status.

I can't believe I actually considered this seriously, but Pluto. The only effect it has on Earth is stirring its inhabitants over whether or not Pluto counts as a planet (it doesn't).
It's not like, say, Jupiter, whose massive pull of gravity curves a would-be projectile's path away from Earth.
