all those languages seem to have things that make them to complicated. english seems to ahve a lot of rules but you can ignore them as long as your message get to the right person.
But if you go for a simpler language you'll lose expression. If you don't like the way the older languages have developed with their intricacies, it sounds to me like Esperanto would fit your needs the best.

middle egyptian might be an issue creating some new words, but that is a probably one that will work out itself

Esperanto is frighteningly compartmentalized, and you will understand why that is so doubleplusungood if you think about it.

we need better fake languages, like elvish, or this one...

Why the hell isn't Arabic on the list? I think it sounds awesome, and it's the only UN language you left out besides English.

Also, devout Muslims are required to learn Arabic, and having one world language in anything except that would cause problems. But that doesn't really matter, Arabic sounds awesome.

How about we ditch the language selection, and just invest in the development of personal omni-translators for everyone?

Just sayin' is all... much less trouble that way.

Tie between Russian and German. Those are the only languages besides English that I know.

Russian.

I guess I could go for English since it's not my primary language or technically even my secondary language, but y'know what: no. In my personal opinion, the only particularly good or interesting thing about it is that it's popular now.

Latin does quite the opposite in my opinion. I'm in my second year of learning Latin and I absolutely hate it. Plus, the syntax is all fucked up.

I vote Russian, just because I've always wanted to learn it. Spanish is out because, honestly, living in Florida I hear plenty of Spanish to know I don't like it. Chinese and Japanese are out because they both are too different from English for me to ever understand. German, Italian etc would be OK too.

German language is simple enough. Almost as simple as English, but not quite. Also, it's the most used language in European business.
