I like achievements, they give you something extra to ´achieve´ in a game.

Some side quests/missions would never be played if it wasnt for achievements.

Even thought some achievements are way overdoing it, they are a good idea to make people play a game longer for extra's they would normally not go after.

Achievements are there to make the player experience parts of the game he/she would have never experienced before. If the multiplayer achievements are clever and not just there to show how much you can grind, I have no issue with them.

I don't like them ever since blizzard announced they might put achievements into starcraft 2... thats the line there. Sure they work well in say.. WoW and almost all 360 games, but realy.. Starcraft? /Rant

I love them. Especially the hard-to-get ones.

I recently got Fertilizer Man and Sole Survivor on Nazi Zombies :3
ME TOO!! but not in multiplayer, though (that's right, round 15 by myself. not hard w/ the wonderwaffe)
Bleh, I prefer Browning over Wunderwaffe.

I've also got "Here's Your DD-214" from Bad Company.

They're alright if a game has good multiplayer. But I absolutely hate them on games with shitty tacked on multiplayer. I mean, who the hell is actually going to take the time to get the online achievements for Quake 4?
Isn't one of the Q4 achievements to be ranked #1 online?

On-topic: Don't care about achievements and rarely play online so it doesn't really affect me.
However, the achievements in WoW ruined the game. I've seen people demand achievements for everything from the FIRST GODDAMN INSTANCE to requiring the full achievement just to kill the first boss in a 10-man instance. Of course, if you don't have the achievement, the first suggestion is to find a geared guild to 'carry' you through all the raids. Basically forcing you to find a guild and complete all the content to be allowed to join random groups of people TO COMPLETE THE DAMN CONTENT.

[sup]I apologise for the use of caps, but I felt it was required to show what I think of it.[/sup]

I'm confused why people think they have to love or hate them. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU!!
The issue here is that people may farm during games and cause you to lose. Plus, others don't have online at all.

They don't bother me, what bothers me is the people who grind and ruin my games of TF2 because they're out to bag all the achievements.

They are there.... I don't really go after them, but I love to see them pop when I get it. TF2s achievements are pretty good.

Achievement whores annoy the hell out of me when they take things too far, but I enjoy having them there sometimes. Gives me a little something to work towards and stops me from getting bored as easily.
