I'm a realist. So I guess more of a pessimist...
"A pessimist is an optimist's realist."

I can agree with this statement. Also, I apologize if someone else has already said this.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist. I am most definitely an optimist. My life philosophy is "shit works itself out". I'm a pretty happy person as well. Certainly not a downer. So how about everyone else?

Also prediction, the internet is filled with primarily pessimists.
I'm inconsistant, is what I am.

Optimistically pessimistic.

As in, I prepare for things to go all wrong, but expect them to go right.

I'm an Pessimistic-Optimist... I think of the worst possible situations all the time, but I figure it'll all work out in the end!
I'm an optimistic pessimist. I KNOW that life sucks and kicks your ass most of the time, but I still try to enjoy it as best as I can and have some hope for the future.
So... Do you think the glass of water is half full or half empty?
Half empty, because the water was most of the time removed to get to that state.
But, there might be a refill somewhere down the road.
*complexifies* XD

I like to think I'm realistic, but I have a habit of being both. I swing both ways, so to speak. I can be a real downer sometimes, especially when I'm annoyed and in a bad mood. But other times, when I've had a good day, and something goes wrong, I can be fairly optimistic about it. And I'm a hopeful person overall, even if I forget it sometimes. I don't necessarily stick to one way of thinking about things. It varies, depending on my mood.

Pessimist. Its hard for me to have faith in humanity. Everyone new I meet is ignorant and stupid and a danger to themself and me, until proven otherwise. After that, they become exceptions.

Otherwise, among my friends, i'm a pretty upbeat and a very-laid back person.

An optimist will tell you the glass is half full. A pessimist will tell you it's half empty. An engineer will tell you it's twice the volume it needs to be.

I myself am a delighted Optimist, because there's nothing wrong with being one. I am not a natural leader, therefore I have this luxury.

Most of the time, I'm a little bit too optimistic about everything, and it can leave me disappointed (which is no fun). However, optimism is also good for seeing the good bits in a shitty situation, something which has proven pretty useful several times over my life, including this very weekend (it's awesome when your best friend randomly decides that he hates the girl that you want to date who just wants to be friends, but at least I'm still good friends with both of them).
