I tried one when I was in Sri Lanka for some reason (boredom + hotel = random stuff happening).

Some girl had her dead friend talking to her...
It's all subconscious movements by the people doing it.

Damn you! I watched that episode, and couldn't stop watching more for two hours! Funny episode though.

Ouija boards are pronounced weird and don't work, so they are blacklisted to me.

wow.

No, Ouija Boards are Hokum.

Ghosts don't really exist - there has never been any properly conducted scientific research that has found any proof that ghosts exist. There are psuedo-scientists who claim that they have some sort of scientific way of detecting or communicating with ghosts, but that's at best misreading their own equipment, and at worst a show in order to squeeze money out of someone.

Edit: If you choose to suspend your disbelief for your own amusement, Ouija Boards can actually be sort of fun. I have no problem with Suspending Disbelief, as long as it isn't permanently suspended.

Substituting one form of lying crap for another (Penn Jillette and his particular brand of "truth" [http://www.bautforum.com/off-topic-babbling/33158-penn-tellers-episode-second-hand-smoke.html]) is not a good strategy for maintaining credibility.
ok so because he got something totally unrelated wrong, that means everything is wrong? and of all things using some guy's forum post, so the post is actually pretty flimsy in discrediting anything in the episode.

you also probly didn't even watch what i had posted and just decided to discredit it with something totally unrelated the subject. if this was a debate about second hand smoke that still wouldn't be a valid discrediting.

so really you've done nothing to prove me right or wrong and done a lot more to discredit yourself and any points you actually bring up in the future. i mean if we just toss out everything someone says because they made one mistake, then well Einstein, Edison, Banting, Bell, Wright and MANY other people wouldn't be trusted or even thought of as good scientists.
It wasn't a mistake. They lied. Don't you get that? Second hand smoke isn't some crackpot fringe thing, it is real. They misrepresented it deliberately.

Einstein, Edison, Banting, Bell, Wright, and MANY other people didn't make shit up and then claim it as fact.

You are saying that it is dumb to believe in lies, while taking the words of other liars.

No, I've no interest in doing so and don't believe that there is anything special behind them either. There will be a reasonable explanation for all of the phenomena surrounding any Ouija board event, so I don't think I need to try one just to say that I have.

I don't like them because you can't win at them. What kind of a board game has no goal except to summon spirits which - according to horror movies - kill your ass?

Well lets consult the Ouija board and see what it says...

Y... o... u... a... r... e... g... u... l... l... i... b... l... e...

...
Holy crap, it works!

It spelled: y ... o ... u ... a ... r ... e ... a ... f ... u ... c ... k ... w ... i ... t

No, nor will I ever.

1. Ghosts do not exist and the entire concept is retarded

2. If they did want to talk to me then they would pick up a pen instead of dicking around with a piece of cardboard and a block of wood.

Tried it once, obviously didn't work. I thought it did at first due to being drunk at the time, but it just turned out to be my friend moving it. Guess what she spelled out? "Marc, did you honestly believe this shit is real". No question mark, we didn't give the ghosts the option of punctuation.

I would like to see an experiment where one group performs the Ouija and doesn't look at the letters, while someone else records them.

I believe a person can be haunted by a ghost of the past, of guilt, etc, but it's really in your head. ::looks around nervously::

you still never actually watched what i actually posted AND you posted some totally unverifiable and unreliable posting. you trying to disprove them was WRONG

also misrepresenting AND lying are two different things, pick one because they are mutually exclusive things. i can misrepresent a fact and not be lying about it.

also you're trying to claim one thing is a lying based on something totally unrelated, which is one of the worst pieces of logic that there is.

so really YOU are lying right now because you are misrepresenting the facts here and therefore anything you are saying is a lie and that makes you are a liar.
