It's similar to the racism issue. That's how I would do it so that people shut their mouth about women being degraded in games.
Here's something to ponder about though. In a behind the scenes video of the development of Heather for Silent Hill 3, the lead artist wanted her to be wearing jeans but his female colleagues opted for a skirt to give her that "feminine quality". I'm not talking about the obvious tit bursting ones like Bloodrayne or Rumble Roses but the subtle ones like Zoe Castillo of Dreamfall. There's no reason why a female character shouldn't be able to accentuate and without falling to scrutiny.
