So I'm curious what is your stance on getting PC games. Despite being young[and by that I mean 22 not 10], I'm old fashioned and buy the hard copy of the games, but lately I've been shaking my head times about it, getting a bit lazy at times and busy. If you are a digital person, let me know why and also as someone who is young and has barely any credit history I'm still waiting around to actually get a credit card application in the mail that is approved so with those digital distributions, which ones do prepaid gift cards, that sort of thing.

Thanks for your insights.

Whatever is easiest. So I have games on Origin, Steam, from GOG, and from retail.

It's primarily all Steam now, I think the last time I got a PC game with a disk was The Orange Box two-something years ago. It's so convenient to never leave the comforts of your house, the sales are good and it has games that my game suppliers don't have.

Steam is the end all.

Really convenient to have my games available in one spot. Plus I only buy when games are on sale :p

Steam if something is going cheap. Otherwise head down to cex in town and buy four old games for 2 quid.

Steam followed by Origin and then if neither option is available Amazon.ca. There's no reason anymore to buy PC/console video games in store unless you happen across a better deal (which is extremely rare).

Steam most of the time, but I got Skyrim from Gamestop. First time I went to a store in awhile. My brother wanted the instruction book, he thought it would be like the ones from the previous games and was disappointed. The map is cool though.

Steam for old games, but I'll buy new hard-copies through Amazon. Bonus points when the game is installed through steam.

Mostly via steam, sometimes I buy a game in store or via ebay if its either not available on steam or a relatively unknown title.

Depends for me. Since I live in Canada, sales tax is 13%. To avoid that, I usually buy on steam or any other digital distributor that gives me a better deal. I will go out to the EB games here for collectors copies of the games I oh so love.

Good to know guys, I mean I do have some games on Steam though they were through boxes that synched that way, I got the box copy of Dues: EX from Best Buy to see how Online was, I actually kinda enjoy Onlive for the demos, playing games I wouldn't care to buy at least on demos. And during Halloween got to play and beat Metro 2033 for laughs. I'll only ever use Origin for ME3, I do have it on comp but that was just to see all the fuss for laughs.

Does anyone know if Steam takes gift cards, or alternatives? Trade, barter, sex?

Steam when the offers are good.

GoG when I want to play an old game which i can't get in CEX

Otherwise, Amazon for new games or CEX for used, cos overall they're the cheapest

I buy a lot of games on steam, not usually new releases, i usually get games that are on sale. Speaking of which, steam sale season is coming up, I better hide my money...

I don't often buy PC games from shops, since often, places like game only stock the sims and world of warcraft, and very little else. It's annoying really.

For new releases, I usually get them off the internet, websites like amazon.co.uk, simply because it's usually cheaper than steam.

mostly steam unless I want a special/limited edition although I sometimes dig around bargain bins.
