I played 360 before I got a laptop capable of running modern games. Then I sold that. Now I play on a pretty good gaming desktop.

However, I would probably go PS3 if I was getting another console. It could replace my Blu-Ray player, and I could play with my friends. Plus, 7 controllers for NHL! That's just too fun versus the measly four of the 360.

Other than some PCs, we have a PS3 and a Wii. But PC's are just better overall so we only play a few games on the others occasionally. Our PS3 is more of a Blu-ray player than anything. But 2nd after PC, PS3.

I'm actually scraping up to buy a PC gaming computer. It'll get here on Monday, I hope! I'm so excited!

Athlon II X4 635(2.9GHz) 8 GB DDR3-1333 500GB Sata II 700 W PSU AMD 770 motherboard HDD Capacity ATI Radeon HD 5770-1GB Windows 7 64-bit

If I was a PC gamer at the moment, though, I'd choose the PS3 over the X-Box.

I would have gone for the PS3 *if* it still had backwards compatibility. The PS2 was a massive success, Sony, you can't just expect everyone to ditch that era- and their games- in the blink of an eye. MS tried to do exactly the same with Vista replacing XP.

Both the 360 and the PS3 have exclusive titles I like, and I'm not fussed on Blu-ray and other such tricks. There's just nothing that pulls me towards the current gen of consoles, and frankly I'd rather go without than go through the expense, especially when my PC lets me juggle games with Word, Firefox and AutoCAD.

wtf, why does the Wii come in last? It's pretty much the exact opposite of PC gaming, which is why it's a brilliant choice. I hate to be cliché, but unless you're extremely curious about JRPGs, there isn't all that much on the PS3 that you can't have on the PC. Sure, there are exclusive individual titles, but the general gaming experience surely has plenty of equivalents.

Why anybody, whether they own a PC or not, would want an XBox has always been beyond me. Well, I kniow why, but those reasons are all too stupid to deserve my attention.

I wish I was a Nintendo fanboy. I'm only a theoretical one, as the SNES and the original GameBoy were the only systems I had in my entire life. But there is soooooooo much they constantly do right. I have nothing but great respect for Nintendo (the only actual game company in the console market, and it shows). Even their constant remilking of Mariozeldadonkeykongkirby has a lot more fresh air about it than what some high-profile console-"sequels" pretend to have.

tl,dr: What is wrong with you people?

If I had to choose form the current gen I would choose the Wii. You can get most PS3 and 360 titles on the computer so what would be the point? Also the Wii has backwards compatibility so you can play all the gamecube classics. If I didn't have to choose from the current gen I would say PS2, it has the largest and most diverse games that I can't get on my PC.

PS3. Because there are more exclusives on that than the 360. If I can only have one console, the PS3+PC combo would give me access to the largest library.
Well, there's also the Wii. But it's the Wii, so I'll stop there.

PS3. I went with the Playstation for two generations straight, and the only reason I didn't get a PS3 this gen was the sticker shock. Well, the price has finally come down to a reasonable level, so if I were going to drop roughly the same amount no matter which system I got, you can bet it would be the PS3.

And so I don't look like a fanboy (I'm not, Sony just happened to be the best choice two gens in a row), the main reasons I would go for a PS3 are: Free online, the various multimedia streaming options, support for actual dedicated servers in online games, and the fact that I'd be getting a very good quality Bluray player in the bargain. Most of my friends have a 360, so I'd be missing out somewhat on online with friends, but then my Steam friends list is full of people who I know in real life, but don't play with much. For me, "real life" means you have things to do other than game, so when you do have time to game, you don't just randomly bug someone else to play with you. You go out and find people who are playing already, and get to know them.

I respect the PS3 for being a good, solid console, but my favorite is still definitely the 360. I haven't had any real problems with it in 2-3 years and the game line-up still seems to be the most impressive (though I do want to play Demon's Souls :(, accursed non-cross-platform games!).

The Wii... I enjoyed Twilight Princess but I just don't see that many actual games (meaning something beyond what an 80 year old woman who's never touched a game might try). I like the motion sensor idea and I imagine it will expand and get better in the future, but I'm just not that interested.

PC, PS3 and 360.

If I didn't have those other two, I'd probably pick the PS3.

It's not just that it's versatile (I can never go back to DVD), but it has a lot more interesting exclusives coming this year. And I don't care about online multiplayer.

I voted for PS3 because it has some awesome exclusives and I like the controller. I also despise Microsoft and their efforts to ruin PC gaming in order to sell more Xbox 360's which will never work but they are too dumb to figure that out. Also I believe PS2 was the best console ever made and it's only natural to at least hope that PS3 is a worthy successor.

the Dreamcast, its easier to run homebrew on them although the 360 is also a good canidate but if the PS3 gets the other OS function back (or gets modded by the HB only hack) it would also become something I might be interessted in

i'm told this is a hard game (at least compared to all that stuff that has been released since... i dunno... nineteen-ninety-something?)

I'm a pc gamer. But i do have a psp and my girlfriend has a ps3. So i took the ps3. Also because i played xbox a couple of times and i really hate the controller. Never played nintendo wii but i heard from alot of people who have it that it's a novelty console. It gets boring pretty fast.

PS3. It's the better one in every single way IMO.
