When you go swimming at the public pool, do you ever take a leak? I'm assuming here that you are aware that the idea of chemicals in pools being able to show you urinating is a myth. [http://www.snopes.com/science/poolpiss.asp] If not, you do now!
But this should never stop people from getting into their friends' kit bag and soaking their trunks in food dye a couple of sessions before PE, thereby giving the trunks time to dry so as to be unnoticeable until introduction to water...

OT: People peeing in pools is just not the done thing, old chap.

I pee in the toilet. Occasionly if I am nowhere near a toilet, I hold it in OR find a nice wooden area to pee at.

Can't tell if pun intended.

And apparently someone noticed before me, silly me.
Omigod, I'm sorry. That was so not meant. See, there are two buttons on my computer that are pretty much dead now. So I've been having to come up with synonyms and shit for the words I can't type without much copying and pasting.

I guess next time I'm using the word "tiny."

OK, in the peeing in the bath poll I answered yes but peeing on the pool is just crossing the yellow line (get it :D, yeah I'm bad at making these, whatever). I mean come on! That's just gross...

Anything good enough for Olympic swimmers is good enough for me.
"At some point, you just have to accept that you're swimming in pee." Well said. I'm confused by the folks that come in here saying that they swim in public pools but are disgusted by people peeing in them, since there's pretty much a 100% chance of there already being pee in the pool when you hop in. It's just a fact of life. Has anyone seen the South Park episode about it?

Obviously, there is some level of decorum involved, much like farting in public. You don't do it near people (unless you are actually trying to get them mad), you try not to acknowledge it, etc. But if it happens, it happens. I'm genuinely surprised at how many disgusted reactions from uptight people there are.

So for everyone who's talking about how disgusting it is....have you not heard of Filters and Chlorine?

There's so many chemicals in a pool designed to kill bacteria and stuff, that pools are generally not unsanitary.

I always laugh when people freak out about pee/poop in the pool, but will happily jump in a lake no problem.

I don't let it bother me, but I don't do it myself. Urine is clean as long as the person doesn't have some sort of infection, and the chlorine takes care of the rest.

I don't like to, but I accept other people are going to do so anyway.

Then again, I'm the type of person who leaves the room to break wind and pees against the back of the toilet so no-one will have to hear my urine splashing into the bowl.

Unlike the shower thread, I think it's clear cut that you shouldn't pee in a pool. Unless it's your pool...and you're alone...and you love to swim around in pee.

To be fair I don't really use public pools that often, my grandparents have one which is quite sufficent.

No need to apologise, I got a chuckle from it, just remember it until next time :D

A public pool?... No...that's just kinda...eughhhh...

I did it as a kid very occasionally in my family's own pool though.

It's not that I go to public swimming pools all that often to begin with but I don't find it particularly gross. I mean, thats why it burns like hell when you go under without goggles. It's overloaded with chlorine and such to kill the pee germs or whatever.

Yes. Though i havent been to any place like that in years. I just go to a pond every summer, and pee/crap in there instead.

Incidentally, it's the main reason I try not to swim in public swimming pools.

The ocean is another story.... I'd give you a dirty look, but I'm pretty sure the percentage of people who piss in the ocean is much higher.
Well yeah, but there's also the sea creatures, which do pretty much everything there, so there's already that by default, also I'm pretty sure a lot of sewer systems lead there.

OT: Most definitely not, it's kinda disgusting, but really I don't go to pools, and when I go to the ocean I tend to not go into the water, in fact I tend to go fully clothed, which didn't end well when I was a kid because my brother always had to throw me in and then my clothes would get ruined, seriously they would be filled with holes, specially on the knees, but anyway, but anyway no.

I take care of that before getting into the pool. And I don't stay in for several hours so the need doesn't arise while I'm in the pool.

I don't really care. I have never really felt the need but it wouldn't stop me. Its not like you would be the first in a public pool.

Used to, not any more though.

TBH, I don't care so much any more because during my lifeguard training course, I was told the myth of the top six inches of public pool water. In short, you really, really do not want to know what it is if you can't stand the thought of people peeing in a pool.
