For me, dog, for companionship and loyalty.

Dogs. Because they are cute and actually do things. Plus you can walk them with people.

But cats are cool too, mainly cause of their cuteness.

Cats. Simple to look after, yet highly affectionate. No wonder I've got three of the damn things.

Dogs. For me, they're cuter, and you can actually do things with them. They also seem far more loyal, at least from my perspective.

I have three dogs, love em' all. I just like dogs better, and you can do things with them that you can't with a cat. Cats are cool to, they're more like a roaming centerpiece that you feed.

Oh, also, I find people are the best pets, but you have to make them obedient first, which can take a while...

cats, they're pretty chilled out, not too demanding but friendly

I like cats. They warm up the bed in the winter.
Plus you don't have to spend as much time looking after them as a dog. You can just let 'em roll.

Despite being told on this very site that geckos are very boring and a generally crap pet, I want one regardless.
Lizards are cool. Little ones are cooler. Problem?

Cat, definitely. If I wanted a pet that would demand that I came home at a certain time everyday, and was incapable of doing taking care of any of it's own needs, I'd just have a child. At least a kid will eventually grow up and get smarter.

Dogs

They are always happy to see you even if the rest of the world isn't.
But I'am pretty biased, I guess, since we always had dogs but never cats...

Gotta go with rats. Had 40 at the most, 2 of them got litters during the same night and both got 17 offspring each. When they get domesticated properly there's nothing quite like having 15-20 rats coming up to snuggle during naptime ^_^

I love all pets, but dogs for me are the best. I understand my dog and she understands me, so it works out quite well.
