When Gladus was going on about cake, I was like "Meh." My motivation in the game was to find her to see if I could get her to change the offer to pie! =D

I like carrot cake, I also like apple & cheddar pie, any kind of meat pie & can cook a mean shepherds/cottage pie.

As a general rule I'd have pie for dinner & cake for pudding.

Good question.

If I have a choice of what to make for someone, I'll make a pie, it's easier for me to make and everyone always likes the fact that I make an all butter crust.

I don't often make cakes because I'm horrible at piping out icing.

For eating, it depends on where I'm eating, and the choices that I have. If I know the person uses shortening for the crust, I'm going with cake. If there's a cake that I have a weakness for(mocha, black forest) available with a good quality frosting, then I'm going to be digging into the cake.

Both are good, but I love pie. I have worked in food service before, so I know a thing or two about making good pie crust. You can make a pie out of anything, but if the crust isn't good, then the whole pie isn't good.

Cake, because for me, pies are pastry pockets with hot mince beef and gravy inside. Where I'm from, that's what's synonymous with the word "pie". Wouldn't have it any other way. Apple and cherry, etc? I shudder at the thought.

Anyway, since each countries definition of pie and cake is different I will simply say that I like pies better only because the only type of cake I like is cheesecake and as godly as that is, not enough to beat this beauty.
