love my piercings, only have two in each ear but want to get the rest of my ears done and my tongue and possibly my nipples, not sure yet

I only have my ears pierced, I id have the top of one pierced, but it got really badly infected.

I'm planning on a nose stud, and a my lip done, on the side, not centre. And I'm planning to get a tattoo of a Tardis on my lowed back.

I was at one point going to get my eyebrow done, as it seemed to be quite a rare choice, and the legend Mike Patton had one and it looked good on him.

Then I started seeing every chav I passed had got a bolt or ring thru the eyebrow and suddenly decided against it.

I was supposed to get my ears pierced when I was 1, but, due to health risks, my parents decided against it. I've got nothing against ear-piercing (the rest of my family has them), nor do I have a problem with nose-studs. Other than that, and I'm not much of a fan...

I only have my ears done (normally) at the moment, but with my 18th birthday coming up, I have pre-booked an appointment at Polymorph in Newtown (for those in Sydney interested). They have a deal where if you go in on your 18th birthday, you get up to 3 free piercings and only pay for the jewellery. This is their way of saying 'sorry we couldn't do it before you were 18'. (For any non Aussies, the law here is you can only get piercings under 18 with your parents consent.) So on 1st March, I'm going there and getting DEFINITELY my lip done on the side, and I'm trying to decide what to get for the other 2. Its gonna be one of these combos:
-snakebites and the top of my right ear
-lip on the left and both nipples
-lip on the left and one in the top of each ear
or
-lip on the left and 2 in the top of my right ear.
My friend Ashee turns 18 at the end of March, so I'm going in with her to get hers done. She hasn't fully decided yet, but I think she's getting her eyebrow and both nipples done.
And in April my friend Ashee and me are going to be going to get our first tattoos together. She is getting Egyptian Ankhs on her hips and I'm getting 'memento mori' written over my heart. I'll be getting a few more as the years go on too. And so will she I imagine.

I've been tempted from time to time to have my lip pierced but, to be honest, I can't see myself ever doing it. I'm too scweamish when it comes to pain...

Out of curiosity, those who object to piercings, what do you find so repulsive about them?

I do not object whatsoever and actually intent to have my ears pierced, along with a few tattoos. However for me it comes down to "too much of a good thing." Personally preference however I never understood the tongue piercing and cannot fathom why anyone goes about piercing private areas or stretching their ears.

I can understand tattooing and scarification as a form of art made on the body. But I can't understand the piercing.

How do you look at the piercings as a form of art?

OK so I would like to know the Escapist opinion about body piercing.
If you like it, ever thought of having on and so on.

I would never do one, because I don't think it would look good, but I actually like to see them on other people.
My sis has a her ear completely pierced and I think it looks awesome. I have a friend that is heavy into piercing, tattoos, scarification and such. and the things he did look really good.

But then I see those girls with their lips pierced, with really small black or white piercings and those just look like a freaking pimple.

That's my opinion and so I would like to know yours.

To cut a long story short I was drunk. That pretty much sums up all that needs to be said...

I've only got my ears pierced, but I'd like to get some more. Ideally a tongue piercing (no, I'm not a hobag, though wanting a tongue piercing seems to make everyone think that I am) and more ear piercings. However, I'm put off by the fact that I have a wonderful needle phobia, and a general sensitivity to most metals, so everything has to be surgical steel or it will definitely get infected. Probably within about five minutes of getting the damn thing with the way my skin reacts. =\

I used to have an eye brow ring and a lip ring on the right side of my face below my bottom lip. All back when I was around the age of 16. Kinda grew out of it and removed them. Contemplating on repiercing though.

I like piercings. I plan to get one that goes through the bottom of my mouth into my mouth. Dont know what its called, a glyco or something I was told.

Hey look, my first post.

Anyway...

I love piercing and other body mods. Just this week I got a low centre labret stud which is settling in nicely. My future plans involve another one just above, that goes around my bottom lip, an Earl (between my eyes), and maybe an eyebrow. To start with. I am also contemplating a tongue piercing at one point, as an aid for a more extreme mod. But we shall see about that.

You may want to look into more complicated piercings if you want to find the "artistic" side of it.

I personally like piercing especially on paler people and females but i think my jewish/ middle eastern appearence does not suit piecings.

I have 9 piercings and am liking all of them 7 on ears, 1 in nose and belly.
I don't have very reactive skin, so I've never had inflammation, infection or even pus (which in hindsight is possibly a bad thing). Having my belly done actually helped me get over my fear of medical needles, so I'm preparing to give blood now
Most of my friends don't have them, and think I'm pretty grungy for having so many, but I think they make me cool XD or at least more individual...
