Nah, they may be geared towards kids, but they're a lot of fun for adults too. They're probably the only movies my family will watch together. (We each have our own genre preferences but animated movies seems to be the one thing we can all agree on when it comes to movies.)

Kid friendly is not the same as kiddy.

The same applies to all Squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares.

They do something that takes real skill, pump out quality everytime and be able to make things that are enjoyable to more than one demographic.

Same here, I fucking hate that guy. I think he has terrible taste in films and has no fucking right to even be a critic. The world would be better place without his pretentious fat ass.

No, it's for everybody. It doesn't have gore, swear words and cheesy/recycled stories, but that doesn't make them childish.

I don't know how other countries view animation, but America has this horribly shallow and screwed up idea that animation is inherently for kids.

IT'S NOT.

Animation is just as capable of telling good stores well as live action is, and Pixar is the largest American example of animation as a medium fitting for both children and adults. Anime is actually king of this, but many people can't get into that for once shallow reason or another. Anyway, Pixar makes kid-friendly films that only adults can fully appreciate. Perfect, really.

Did you see "Up"? That was some sad fucking adult stuff.

Most depressing montage ever.
It was sad but also beautiful. So rarely does a movie aimed at children tackle a subject such as mortality and manage to do it with such tact and tenderness.

I see where you're coming from, but I'm glad that in this age of sugar coated PC children's movies, Pixar broke ground once again by showing such a harrowing occurence we all have to face at some point in our life, and how losing someone close to you shouldn't mean the end for you.

One of the best movies of the decade, and in my opinion Pixar's finest to date.

I'm 36 and I find Pixer/Disney films quite enjoyable. I do only watch them when the kids are watching them though.
