Depends which game. I hate playing online and i hate split screen.
Games like Mario Wii and LittleBigPlanet are awesome with friends though!

Nope, can't say that I do. Of course, I have not played with my family (read: dad) for a long time, last time was Mario Kart for the Gamecube, and before that the N64. Personally, I'm proud of him, because he owned my ass.

But sure, I have two friends that are like you example. They can't grasp game mechanics of different games and get really frustrated when they get beat, and can rant for hours about it.

Classic example: we had been playing Battle for Middle Earth for a long time, and Niclas (one of my ranting friends) was always wining about how the "horses and trolls" combo would destroy his army, nevermind that you could not build both units with a single race.

And then we got BFME2, and one of my other friend's scout cavalry picked up a NPC troll that chased his horses...

...all the way to Niclas's base. So 40 seconds into the game Niclas ragequitted and never played the game again. xD

Depends on the game, but I really sometimes enjoy solitude with a game to completly dedicade. But on the other hand I love playing with my friend in LAN we have so much fun.

i am all for family friend games in the same room, it either gets super fucking intense (to the point me and my brothers physically pushing each other out of the screen view) or me and my friends yelling at each other (RAPPEDDD , YOU JUST GOT RAPEDDD ONNNN) which is all good times

i do love single player games, but those special times with friends are just so memorable, playing together in the same room and having a good time bashing (playfully of course) is some good ass bonding time
