Between 2 weeks to a month.

But i dont really care that much. I'm getting along without it, never used it much while it was up.

Sony knows that they are losing money with each day PSN is down. And for each extra day down, Sony gives an extra day of PS+. So I don't mind, I just kind of miss Bad Company 2 online, and NFS: HP too.

Portal 2 minus the co-op is really frustrating me, plus I can't redeem my free PC version until the PSN network goes up and lets me link to my steam account. In Australia, I'll give it a month before I sell my PS3.

I'm going to make an educated guess, with some experience. If they say it won't be up by the 31st id tack on about 3 weeks to that rumor.

I clicked the two weeks options, simply because clicking the 1 month button is too painful for me to believe, even though I think that's what will happen.

"Create new account" or "Using an existing account". (Clicks use existing account) "This service is undergoing maintenance." Sigh...

I hear possibly next month but I have no clue.

What worries me is I have a PSN account that I rarely used on my PSP, but I'm still paranoid if any of my personal info could have been compromised.

One of the best thought out rants on the internet there.
The letter from sony is evil enough, I can believe that it was written by the head of their PR department... or rather the gaggle of chimps they call a PR department.
For a while now I have been a ps3 owner that hates Sony. When I bought the ps3, it was the only mature console that didn?t burst into flames and charge a fee. As I?ve seen more features go away and useless features added, it?s become obvious that Sony is counting on their fanboys to keep them afloat but I think they might be overestimating how loyal they are. It?s too bad because if they gave the ps3 some decent support they could?ve made the ps3 as much of a success as the ps2.
As it stands now, the ps3 is definitely my last playstation, and probably my last console.
The PC is a bit more expensive but it really does everything and I?m in control of what functions it gains and which ones it loses.

I am in exactly the same situation, only bought 3 games last year and none since.

Ya I thought that Rant was great too. He's absolutely right too.

Why can't I log in to Sony's Blog site and leave a comment???

I absolutely believe that Sony has people leaving comments for the company on the company Blog in order to make it seem like their fans are a bunch of "fanboys" and wimps. It really pisses me off because if I could sign in a leave a comment I sure as hell wouldn't be saying stuff like "Way to go Sony, keep up the good work by denying us access to your services and delaying the time to bring them all back up."

I haven't been able to sign in at all though AND you can't even try to Register as a new user... not that I need to, I already have an account associated with the Blog and my PSN user account but why is it I can't sign in - yet supposedly - others are able to? Oh and the majority of those that do sign in have nice things to say about Sony and the BS they keep feeding everyone.

I was never a "fanboy" but I really did enjoy my PS3 and the ability to play both offline and online with ease and all of the PSN games that I ended up buying.

Get this, I can't even play Final Fight Double Impact! You can't even start it up without signing in to PSN! Sony and Capcom really screwed the pooch on that one.

I think that Rant at http://i-luv-games.com/?p=578 hit the nail on the head!

I give it a week, most likely towards the end of next week or the weekend after next.

If it doesn't come back online soon, we are gonna see some record high scores on the June 6 LSATs. No COD? Meh, should study more anyways.

Now go check out the latest US Playstation Blog Post!

LMAO!

Now look at the comments, you know that Sony is using Staff to pretend to leave valid comments now!

They've even resorted to leaving comments that sound like they're begging and grovelling! Pathetic.

And what about this latest update? Do you really think people would be polite after reading such an update? People can't even sign in to leave comments, but if they could I'm sure they'd be telling Sony exactly where they can stick it.

Un-f***ing-believable.

I?m in total agreement but I often wonder if those are the true colors of your common gamer anyway. How else would a game retailer with such obvious predatory practices almost become a monopoly and gouge the used game market? How else could a console that charges a fee and spontaneously combusts at a rate of 50% continue to sell so incredibly well with people even buying replacements while they wait for the original to be repaired? How else would things like DRM, day-one dlc, and online pass come into practice in the first place? Let?s face it, gamers aren?t the most savvy consumers and it seems to me that companies like Sony, MS, Gamestop, Capcom, EA.... (the list goes on and on) It seems like they?ve started counting on gamers being suckers. Look at our ?reward? for being patient with them: free ps+... For a month which makes it only half useful. No point in buying anything at a discount is there?
There?s no doubt when you look at it that sony is buttering their own mudpies on their blog if only for the fact that nobody I know can sign in but at the same time, I get the feeling they?re not too far off the mark. Hell, I bought Fallout New Vegas on launch day so I?m probably a bit of a sucker myself.
The DRM issue is hopefully something that will be re-evaluated after this fiasco, if not by the companies that utilize it, than at least by the gamers who got screwed by it. Same with games that are (practically) online only. As much as I love Warhawk, the game is useless to me as of right now and will eventually become useless forever.
Like the author of the article, the psn outage itself isn?t that annoying until Sony starts patronizing us and we get to thinking about all the other things we?ve gotten screwed over with as ps3 owners.
