I swear to god I added a poll. The thread took forever to upload and then when it did I couldn't see the poll. Not sure what happened.

See, I call it a remote because (at least for my PS3) it is remote from the console. No wire = remote.

I've always called it the remote. Never heard 'controller'.

Edit: Oh, I thought we were talking about TV remotes. I call it the controller for video games.

Remotes are for TVs and shit. Controllers are for consoles.
I'm not sure when that was decided but it quite apparently was at some point.

I call anything with a joystick for videogame-intended use a "controller", even if it is a remote item.
