Cheats are a good way to gain the Pokemon hidden in the code which you are supposed to unlock at specific events. First there are none of those I heard of in my country lately, secondly I would feel a bit uneasy if I as an adult with all the little Pokefreaks.

I don't use cheating/hacking type devices. But I do trade online for Pokemon that I'm pretty sure were hacked. I've also exploited glitches like the cloning one in Emerald. So, yeah I guess I do cheat.

Does leveling a full team of Meowth with Pick Up count as cheating?

I mean, starting at level 21 they can find Rare Candies and starting at level 41 Rare Candies have a 10% chance of being found after a random battle.

While I only really knew detailed tricks and glitches for the original red and blue (I gave up on the series after gold/silver =s)

I always played through the content as per normal (punting out the elite four and such) but when it came to filling out the pokedex, off to Veridian>Cinnabar to duplicate some masterballs/rare candies. =3

What? It saved me weeks if not months! ^.^

(For what it's worth though, what are peoples opinion of Soul Silver/Heart Gold? Are they worth the pickup for the nostalgia trip?)

I never cheated on any of the 1st/2nd generation games. After completing Diamond/Heart Gold though, I did cheat a bit to obtain some of the pokemon from the pokedex to fill it (over 450, I mean come on).

The only reason I can think of for cheating is to get the event Pokémon you can't possibly get legitimately. Cheating to get good stats to beat others online is just really scummy behaviour.

That said my daughter is playing heartgold and using this
http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?780-GTS-website-research/page34
to help her get pokemon not in gold seems fair. shes too young to click that it's cheating when she always gets a trade she wants.

Portugal doesn't have Nintendo Events, so I have to unlock them using AR other than that I stay away from cheating.

IF you want to annoy your friends that have a team of level 100 legendaries do this.

Get six focus sash if you can give them to 6 rattata's/starly with endeavour and quick attack. Choose endeavour and they'll attack you but you'll get 1 HP remaining endeavour will make their HP drop down to yours, quick attack and you have defeat a Level 100 Lugia with a level 2 Rattata.

Yes it is, with some added depth and pokemons and that one last trainer in Mt Silver is even more hard!

But if thats what you mean by cheating then yeah ive done it probably once or twice
You can easily cheat on the DS. I caught Arceus fifteen minutes into the game.

i only cheated a couple times on SoulSilver, but only for Pokemon that the game pulls a dick move for and makes sure you can't get easily, or at all (eg, Hitmonlee, Mew). other than that, i don't see the point of cheating in Pokemon my self.

In Red and Blue I always end up at Missingno's doorstep sooner or later. I don't cheat in any other Poke-game though.

Niiice, I know more then one person to annoy with that idea.

Might pick up a legit copy then, nostalgia trips are always good.

(Not to mention there is some weirded out instability issue when playing the game on an R4 or an emulator =C)

Hell no! Nothing felt more satisfying than pounding the Elite Four with my completely hand-raised (not a single Rare Candy!) level 100 Blastoise.

Raising your Pokemon is the most satisfying part of the whole game.

I once did the Missingno cheat in Red though, but purely because I was curious how it looked. The thing's useless anyway.

I don't, but I have a friend that cheats just for giggles.
He beat the Elite Four not by fighting them, but by capturing all their pokemon.
Good times...
That, thats pretty fucking amazing. I think I love your friend.

When I was a young gamer I used cheats/glitchs/walkthroughs all the time intill that one fatefull day. You see I was playing OoT for about a year intill I happen apon a glitch I learned off the internet it was replace one item in your inventory with a bottle so I decided to get rid of the boochy bombs(or how every you spell it) it wasn't intill later I learned that you needed them in gannons castle so I had to start over one whole year of playing and working to the end and I had to start over I swore to never use a cheat ever again.

No. There's really no point. If anything, I could see faster egg hatches, or something like that, but that's just to save the time it takes normally.
