Fennekin is my choice from what I've seen. The grass one isn't bad either. Being a bunny lookin thing. I must say this gen's starters are a better stock than the last 2 gen's.

But final form looks matter to me. I like my Pokemon to look good.

I'll pick some random one before ditching it in favour of the first Dragon-type I find (like I always do).

I'd really want to see what their final forms look like and what their final types are. Without that info, I'll probably just go with Chespin. I'm fond of using plant or water pokemon at the beginning of the game since they start strongly. Black/White may be an exception, though. The games usually start off with a gym that's easily beaten by grass or water.

I like all of them, but will pick Chespin because IMO he looks the most innovative, and I'm a sucker for innovation.

For those talking about previous starters:
I think these are some of the best designed characters in a while, because they're simple.
For those who don't understand why gen 4 and 5 is worse than gens 1-3 is because they had the power to make more complex looking pokemon, so they made more complex looking pokemon, which looked worse.

I plan on sticking to my usual tradition of picking the water starter as for the rest of my team I'll just make that up as I play through the game, I mean I don't even know what kinds of Pokemon they're going to be yet.

I knew Chespin would be the underdog, but I kinda like him. Also I'm trying not to spoil the other mons or their evolutions like I did with gen 4 and 5.

At the moment Fennekin seems like my most likely choice, but I would very much like to see the final evolutions before I decide.

Pokemon X and Y chromosome edition is coming out soon
You mean soon as in October-of-this-year-soon?

As in the end-of-this-year-and-it-is-currently-January-soon?

As in not-at-all-soon-but-more-of-nine-months-from-now-oh-god-this-is-what-its-like-to-be-pregnant-I-want-my-X/Y-noaw?

[HEADING=1]THAT KIND OF SOON?![/HEADING]

[sub]*sobs*[/sub]

OT: I actually prefer the look of Chespin over the other two.

What's wrong with Gen 2's Pokemon? Just curious. :p
Nothing at all, I just more fond of Gen 1 and 3
The former for being the originals, the ones that started this all. The latter because pokemon emerald was my first game, you could say that they were my generation.
I get you. Gen 2 was my gen.
How I miss you Cyndaquil...

OP: Probably going with Chespin. Dunno why. I like his for some reason.

Probably Fennekin. It just looks cooler than the others to me. Naturally final forms will play a part in my choice, but as for stats and move pool I really couldn't care less. I just want to see some awesome looking Poison pokémon in this game.

I usually go with the water starter....because I just have, since the first generation. That said, if Froakie's evolutions look silly (as I'm already not a huge fan of how it looks) or if it becomes a water/fighting type, then I'll go with one of the others.

Well, let's look at my other choices:
Silver: Chikorita
Ruby: Treeko
FireRed: Bulbasaur
Diamond: Turtwig
Platinum: All 3 (I used the traded immediately)
SoulSilver: Chikorita

I think I see a pattern here.

Yeah that kind of soon.

You are right it is just like pregnancy because you have cravings (for pokemon) and your boobs get bigger (I know mine are). Except without the swollen womb and the lack of periods.
[Disclaimer]
I'm actually just a guy with man tits I have no idea what pregnancy is like, nor ever shall I.

No one want's Chespin mostly because he looks stupid and you probably have something in your eye, to even consider his design good. But I think his final form has a lot of potential, a huge hairy Beaver pokemon (no innuendo intended) would look great (no innuendo intended).
But seriously Chespin's final evolution will most likely be cool if not the best. I am worried about Fennekin who will probably end up looking like Ninetails version 2, this is why I am still keeping an open mind concerning the starters. Although at the moment Fennekin is cute and I would like to try another fire type.

What I used each generation:

1st: Squirtle
2nd: Cyndaquil
3rd: Any of the three
4th: Piplup
5th: Oshawott
6th: Probably Fennekin (unless final evolutions prove otherwise)

Well, with favorite animal being foxes, my favorite Pokemon being Ninetales, and having used canine-like pokemon at every possible chance I can get, from Mightyena to Jolteon to Arcanine to Magnetric, there is no option other than Fennekin for me. Please Nintendo, put the Eeveelutions, Ninetales and Zoroark in these games as well, and you'll have nearlly redeemed yourself to me. I'm still a little angry at you over the lack of Star Fox, but we're getting there.

That frog is so ugly.

SO UGLY.
I know right? xD

Hopefully he'll pull a magikarp on us and have a badass final form.

OT: I usually go with the fire types as my starters. In fact I have for pretty much every gen excpet for 2. I chose totodile for that one because Totodile and Feralligator are awesome. Croconaw not so much.

Usually I wait until I see the evolved forms before I make a decision, however I would go for Fennekin if I were to forced to pick from looks alone. Like many people are saying, I just hope it won't turn out to be another fire/fighting type.

My usual go-to is the water type, since they're usually my favorite out of the starters (Blastoise, Swampert, Empoleon, Samurott) and water is a good all-around typing.

Also frogs. Frogs are awesome.
