Remember the good ol' days when you played as pikachu and charizard?
Those pokemon were creative, new, cool, well rounded monsters.
...recently i picked up a copy of pokemon Diamond version.....OH MY GOD, all pokemon have lost all creativity, there drawn to look like mutated blobs, and the NAMES come ON!

A pokemon made out of honey comb and some bee wings..really...is that all they have left...

there milking the whole pokemon thing and hott damn the games are getting worst and worst D:

Well thats what i think.
you?

I still enjoy the old Pokemon Red and Blue games. They should have stopped at 150.

I did love Mystery Dungeon, perhaps the best, had a great mysterious plot and beautiful writing and beautiful ending. Fallen out of it since 4kids lost it, but yeah, the new pokes are pretty sad looking.

I enjoyed the "Red and Blue" era Pokemon, but I honestly stopped counting after the first 150.

I still hear that the games are great fun; I just think there are waaay to many pokemon...

pretty much what he said, the second generation was when I stopped really caring. but every few gens I come back (I bought the entire last gen at a garbage sale a few years ago and am going to buy platinum in a few weeks) they aren't that bad, I mean it could be worse... When they hit rock bottom, we'll know.

Hmmm, Completly agree that Johto was the end of the "golden age" where you could still see originality in pokemon names/designs, but couldn't but help compare it to power rangers, had to check still going on, yet i'm sure they've ran out of color combos and designs

I quite enjoyed Platinum, and I don't regret buying it at all. yea, some of the Pokemon (Combee, all of the new Legendaries, all of the rehashed old pokemon[Meowth->Glameow, Pidgey->Taillow->Starly etc.]) are definitely stupid and uncreative. I can't blame nintendo though, they make a ton of money from the franchise. Aside from some bad choices with EVs/IVs and a lack of innovation, the series is still as fun as it was 10 years ago.

It has depth, its easy to play and its fun. It'll go too far once I stop haing fun.
I wouldn't mind a longer span between Gen's, but thats a small issue to me.

Hell yes. How many are there now? 700+? I said screw this bullshit when they came out with the next few after 150. Mew and Mewtwo exempt.

I will agree that many of the pokemon are lackluster lately, but there are a few gems among them. But just remember, there were always a few of the original 151 pokemon that just never settled right, they were also duds. This is in the same fashion that The Simpsons used to be mostly good episodes with a few duds here and there, yet now the episodes are mostly trash with a few jems every season. For these few gems, we allow The Simpsons to limp along, so to be fair, pokemon can do it too.

Hoothoot was my gem from the second generation.

There's so many pokemon, it's crazy. I liked most of the games, from the beginning to the point of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. But I couldn't keep up on all the different kinds of pokemon after that.
