As someone about to enter his senior year of high school, I can honestly tell you that I have experienced the exact opposite of what I had expected. In other words, instead of a bunch fake high schoolers driving me insane, it's a bunch of terrible teachers driving me insane!

Granted, there's still fake teenagers, but they're nowhere near as annoying as a teacher on a power trip.

You and me both brother. I'm getting ready for my Sophomore year. My freshmen year, thank god, I had the opportunity to be in a annex of only other 9th graders due to my High School being overpopulated. But starting next month on the 23rd. I'm screwed.

The movie high schools really psyche me out of this. luckily I have a few friends to back me up.

You basically described the first two years of my high school years lol
Many on the internet have said the same. It leaves me wondering if I'm going to have friends and change as a person. Likely not, though. I'm that much of an insensitive prick. At least I realize it.

High school is a joke. You'll learn about that when you get to college.

Not just the classwork being designed for a retarded monkey (in the United States at least) but all the assholes who you will never see again, and all the unreasonable expectations that are set for you as for what your high school experience should be.

As for the "beer and sex FTW" answer, that gets alot better in college too. Parties stop being a punch of pricks gathering to suck on the metaphorical (and in some cases literal) manhood of the one or two "popular" students.

Two bits of advice: Don't do what I did and entirely remove yourself from the nonsense. Don't get me wrong, high school is nonsense nonetheless, but virtually nothing you do here has any impact on anything ever (aside from getting good enough grades to get into college, not drinking to the level where you risk alcohol poisoning, drinking and driving, etc.)

Tip two, if you are one of the lucky few who has a good high school experience, don't be the douchebag that talks about it all the freaking time. Nobody likes that guy.

Yeah, what's with that? Does America have insanely low standards, even the "Advance Placement" classes were easy.....

Don't buy into the whole "SENIORS BEAT UP FRESHMAN OMG" bullshit, because frankly, seeing a pack of Freshman is just as common in High School as seeing a herd of cows as it is in Wisconsin.

And frankly, us upperclassman like to keep you Freshman as pets. I have a pet Freshman, and his name is Karl. He is a wonderful little fellow.

You'll be fine.
Wait what,I didn't know we can do that.

all i can say is keep your head down and don't try to draw too much attention to yourself. if you try to be cool and fail, then the next several years of your life will suck. if you keep a low profile you will still make friends and have a social life and stand a better chance of living to tell the tale.

as for studying... don't make me laugh. high school education is either useless or stupidly easy. if you have even an ounce of brainpower you will be just fine.

this is from my experience, and it worked for me. good luck, your gonna need it.

Im going to college this year and I hated High School. Especially my last year but there are definatly some experiences that were good. Such as my first bj, that was pretty awesome, especially since I'm pretty much a complete nerd. Lol Sexual experiences are good at first and when they are happening but afterwards it is easy for such things to cause much anguish and heartbreak. You have been warned.

None of it matters. Really. The drama, the anxiety, even the grades; all of it becomes terribly insignificant once it's all over.

The best advice I can give is to pass your classes, have fun (within reason), and try not to take things too seriously.

This may seem cliché, but hear me out. I'm entering high school next year. What should I expect? Is it time to crack down on the hard work and leave my social life behind? Or will I be constantly getting wasted by senior year? Got any tips? Thanks in advance!
Get ready to enjoy the most horrible 4 years of your life, kid!

Actually one other thing, most of it is BS and won't matter in years to come. But DONT FUCKING SLACK AND MAKE BAD GRADES!!! If you do you will pay for it your senior year and it will be annoying to find a good college to go to. It could be good or bad but just be prepared for anything it might throw at you. Good luck kid. You will need it.

When you go to your first party, drink in moderation and don't get totally smashed. I didn't owing to my lack of mild mental retardation but a friend of mine drank most of a 40 of vodka and a couple of beers in roughly an hour of getting there. He spent the rest of the night with his head in a toilet bowl and the next couple days with a hangover. Drink gradually more as you go to more parties, and you can avoid the whole awkward "head in toilet" scenario.

Unless you'd rather have that just to day you did XD

Hahahaha more negative answers to the poll than positive ones.

I guess that's what happens when you throw up the poll on a site mainly populated by hermits.

~~

Anyway:

It's high school.
It doesn't matter.
Don't study too hard, just keep your grades where you need them, and otherwise have fun.
Drink.
Have sex.

Don't listen to the fucking partypoopers here.

It only becomes a miserable experience if you let it be.

biggest waste of time ever... it's a rubber stamp that means nothing in society today trust me. i am out of college with a masters in kinesiology and it is bullocks. people are dicks, some think they are special and popular and others think they are the !@#$. most of those people u will never see again in your life or associate with. (that's a good thing) if u manage to get a degree u will surpass half your fellow classmates. furthermore if u have a job right out of college that makes a high starting wage u can start laughing at all those idiots whom made fun of you who are now flipping your burgers and making your pizzas

Pretty fun, for the most part. The mainstream options are horrendous, though, especially when you get an IT teacher who know jack shit about computers.
