Most modern action games today have many things that me and many other gamers dislike. If you could ban one of these modern things which would it be. If you have one that's not on the list please list it.

One of the main reasons that I absolutely HATE Gears of War is that it was so dark and gritty that I couldn't see anything.

I would ban stupid and horrible story plots, or maybe Movie games (with only a few exceptions).

If there was a game with rainbow dwelling animals fighting eachother in gory firefights, I'd buy it definitely.

This, oh so this.
Also, don't take away my hard earned weapons and ammo!
You knew I've been saving, didn't you?

I agree with xmetatr0nix... I've always loved playing games, as you would watch a film, or read a book... Seeing characters and plotlines develop and draw you in because they're interesting and you enjoy that aspect of it. Rather than todays increasing emphasis on multiplayer gameplay.

Even in multiplayer games, I often prefer to play with NPCs instead, so I can have the oppertunity to wander around looking at the level (I'm a game designer, I get my kicks out of the game itself as well as the gameplay :p), playing my own little stratergies (how many enemys can I kill a certain way etc), etc etc, without having to worry about "doing my part" of the teams efforts, or having to run through a co-op gameplay because the other player wants to get the goodies or finish it ASAP

More games like halflife, less like COD4 (However much I enjoyed the campaign, it felt like it was a token-singleplayer compared to the multiplayer) :(

This applies to all games, but especially modern action.

Please stop with the "OMGZ HAHA YOU WILL NEVER BEAT THIS" difficulty. For those of you that DO beat it, you probably have too much time on your hands, or at least a truckload of deaths. And, by the way, nobody cares that you beat Halo 3 on Legendary. Why can Master Chief survive a crash landing from the atmosphere, but die from 5 shots of a Plasma Rifle? I don't know either.

Now all we have to do is sat back and wait for the influx of repsonses saying "Well, I beat Call of Duty 4 on Veteran without dying." Good for you. Go play outside.

lol I forgot to post my own. If I could ban one thing it would be quick time events, especially ones that if you fail the enemy gets most if not all of its health back.

Lack of nudity. *shifty eyes*
No seriously. Grittiness, regenerating health, ah screw it all. Bring it back to the old school. Hose of modern day graphics to get rid of that dirty look, and bring back the Doom/Quake style of game. Fun to blow time on

these things done properly can work really well. its just that games overuse them and then and don't do it right either, ruining those aspects crediblity for the games that haven't cocked up on them. so banning any of these would be stupid as the well made ones would then be lost completly. that didn't make much sense did it?

I'm sure some company will do it if you pitch the idea.

I want more single player. I'm not one to really like playing online a whole lot, I only do it when there's nothing else to do. And I prefer story modes as opposed to campaign modes. If there isn't a story I can get into, I'll tend to lose interest.

if it doesn't have a good storyline i don't play it, but i can see why people buy games like that. and i wouldn't ban them.

but i likes my weapon variety, so i dislike only being able to carry a few. i like the weight system of fallout. it's a good compromise.
