Moments where I drink soda (in general):
-Every Saturday (usually includes Popcorn and/or a glass of water)
-When I order fast food (Them Whoppers, dude...)
-I have spare change at a local drug store (Eh... I could go for a Coke...)
-Parties! (WOO!!)

So, in other words, at least one day every week... and it's usually some store-brand Sprite or Grape soda from a liter bottle that may or may not be mixed with fruit juice from a carton just to stretch out that liter soda for the month...

I have "no idea" what "moderation" is, because I don't care about "moderation" in the first place... but people tell me I do that, in terms of drinking soda, I guess...

The only drinks I have regularly anymore, apart from alcohol, are water and unsweetened coffee.
I'm so lame.
Not lame at all, it's the way to go!
Caffeine to pick you up, alcohol to calm the nerves, and water to counter the dehydration.
That sounds much better, I might write that one down for future reference!

Thanks for assisting me in justifying some of my vices. XD

Actually kind of surprised that "More often than I should" isn't an answer to this.

I don't drink a bunch, but I do drink it more often than I did last year when I was poor, and maybe a little less than I did three years ago when I worked in an office setting. I don't drink cans or bottles, but rather from a 52 ounce mug, which I put literally everything I drink into. Some days all I want is a bunch of water, and don't even think about soda. Some days I want soda but don't walk to the gas station to get it. Some days, I don't want it, but walk past the gas station and wind up getting some anyway. It just depends on my mood.

I drink about 30 ounces a day on days I do drink, but never 5 or more days a week.

I need either a soda or some sweet tea when I smoke a cigar, so on days when I want to relax with a cigar, I usually have a soda with it.

That's yank-speak for soft drink, right?

Personally, I don't drink it. Used to as a kid, but not any more.

I've gone without drinking it long enough that I've become unaccustomed to the taste. Fizzy drinks taste unpleasant to me now.

I drink tons of soda when it's available (which is very often for me). Pretty much an unhealthy bastard.

Somewhere between rarely and not so often. I used to drink it quite oftern during my kid and teen era (my drink of choice when I'm having my dinner) however once I entered Uni, I stop. For some strange reason when I entered into university I started to dislike drinking it and end up drinking orange juice as my replacement.

These days the only I would have a soft drink is when someone hand me one or when I'm in a fastfood place like KFC or McDonalds.

About three 1.5 liter bottles a week, spread out over the week days.

So yeah, a lot.

I wish there was a healthier equivalent, but there just isn't.

I used to be really bad for pop, like 500ml a day pretty much. I cut it out and just drank water and managed to lose 2 dress sizes. Then I started drinking it pretty badly again and put it all back on and more. Then I slowed down and managed to lose a bit. Currently I have about 2 bottles a week at most. Sometimes I go a few weeks without drinking it at all. I really fancy it, I'll try go for Coke Zero or Pepsi max.
I mainly drink Earl Grey tea, coffee with sweeteners, fresh orange juice and sugar free flavoured water because the sugar version of it is nearly as bad as coke. I'm not that good though because I'm having a ton of sugar recently :/ About once a month I have a few days where I'm just like 25 CHOCOLATE BARS A DAY PLS and you can probably guess why.

When I'm out it's usually Malibu and coke or vodka and coke or white wine with lemonade. I stopped drinking alcohol as much recently and people pointed out a noticeable weight loss too.

2, sometimes 3 cans per week.

I used to think that was the norm, too, until there was a survey on the news which revealed a bunch of people chugged bucketloads.

I can taste the diabeetus in this thread.

Very rarely, about the only time I drink soda is as a mixer with alcohol or when I'm at the cinema, and even then I'll drink the sugar free stuff.

I'm not a fan of terribly sweet things. I don't have sugar in my tea of coffee, so having a beverage which is basically fizzy sugar water? Blegh.

I usually don't do this but...I almost feel obliged to point out some things in this thread.

Coca-cola et al, don't cause obesity. An inactive life-style and too much food does.
Coca-cola..etc.. Don't cause diabetes, though it can contribute to type 2 in elderly people because it often go hand in hand with an otherwise unhealthy diet.
Coca-cola don't cause bad teeth, improper brushing does.

Though I could be wrong, of course. I'm not a doctor.
(please don't hurt meee!)

I was actually told by my dentist that even if you never brush your teeth but maintain a low sugar diet, they'll probably be in better condition than someone who brushes regularly but consumes a lot of sugar. That's obviously anecdotal but denying that the excessive consumption of soft drinks can cause horrific damage to your teeth is a wee bit delusional.

As for obesity and diabetes, it may not be the sole cause but the consumption of a lot of soft drinks is definitely a contributing factor.

Look, I smoke so I'm in no position to lecture people on their health, but I don't go around denying the heightened risk of cancer and a million other health risks.

Edit: You said that you have up to 6 cans a day, that's almost three times your RDA of sugar just from drinks alone, how can you think that it doesn't have any negative implications for your teeth?

I basically have a can of Dr Pepper every week day with my lunch at the moment.

My favourite drink of any, is Coca-Cola in a glass with ice. I don't think there is actually anything that tastes better to drink.

Oh, I'm not denying the fact that anything taken in excess is probably very bad for you.
It's just that it is often toted as the major reason for those things. I think it's more a question of life-style and predisposed genetics than coca-cola being Eeevuul ,)

I started drinking around 5 cans a day (and using snus) in my teens (15 to be precise).
I had perfectly fine teeth even without brushing them until my 27th birthday.
Then I got a stressful job..but anyway, yeah, too much sugar is bad for your health, mkay ^^.

Thanks for not hurting me!

I have a bottle of Mountain Dew once a day. It's my morning "coffee" since I can't stand real coffee. After that I drink teas, juices & water. I love green tea & cranberry juice. It's even pretty good mixed together.
