With Mass Effect 3 right around the corner, I wanted to see where the community on the Escapist tend to lean in regards to morality. I prefer the badassery of the Renegade options, personally.

Ive tried playing a Renegade, but most often than I not I keep making the Paragon choices. I do the same thing in games like Fallout, I just cant kill anyone without trying to solve issues with words first.

I indulge myself in a renegade action every once in awhile (that loud mouth Krogan comes to mind) but I'm a goody goody at heart.

Don't sway either way, I play both. Both are retarded at times, both are cool at times.

Some like Blue some like Red. Me. I'm more of a Grey kind of guy. Renagon forever.
It all depends on what I feel is a reasonable and realistic reaction for each situation.

Well I'll be importing my characters, the one I've had since the first game and he was Paragon so I'll be starting Paragon. Then I'll import the second character for the second playthrough who is a Renegade.

Usually Paragon. I like being a nice guy.

However, if someone really pisses me off, or if Renegade gives an advantage in a particular situation, I'll pick that instead.

Like here for example . . .
That is one of the most memorable scenes for me because I thought he was just going to steal the tool or something. Then he kills the guy I was "wtf are you doing shepard, that is not what I was thinking."

OT: I usually play paragon because the renegade choices usually just means be a dick. I enjoy being a nice guy.

I make the occasional Paragon choice, like the Rachni Queen is ME1. Overall though, my Shepard is one badass *****.

Most of my characters are Paragon, but I think there's only one where I've played it as pure Paragon - in all the others I've taken various Renegade options from time to time, either because they're hilarious or the Paragon option would be just too sappy or stupid. Udina elicits a lot of them, for example :p

I feel that most of the Renegade choices are dumb as shit really. Like for example..

Why would you kill the Geth or Rachni? The main thing you should be trying to do across all the games is to gain as many allies as possible for the final battle against the Reapers. You may whine and complain about how the Rachni could come back and betray you in another hundred years, or that indoctrinating the Geth in is inhumane, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The Rachni wont exactly be able to take over anything if the entire galaxy is destroyed again will they? Or that The Quarians wont be able to take back their home planet if gets blown up in the Invasion.

I always imagined shepard as a renegade. I've played renegade almost exclusively since me1 (I've never even done a paragon ME2 playthrough lol).

Agreed. Renegade options are pretty bone headed.

As for how I play? I play Alpha Protocol and make my decisions without some colour coded meter telling me what to do, and I get game changing consequences.

To be fair...

...unless you play Virmire before Noveria (which I've only done once, it felt weird) Shepard doesn't actually know that he needs allies in an intergalactic war against the Reapers - at that point, the mission is still just hunting down Saren and freeing or killing the Rachni Queen wouldn't have influenced that one way or the other.

I'm more interested in how the Queen got off the planet if you did free her - all Shepard did was open a door for her :p

I agree with you in general though, a lot of the other ones don't make a lot of sense given what Shepard knows at the time he's making the decision.

My more normal choices are mostly Paragon.

But I do so enjoy watching the ass-kickery of Renegade.

Agreed. The people I consider friends deserve my support and compassion, and almost everyone else deserves my boot.

Whichever I feel is more in line with the characterization I've given my femShep. Yeah, you heard me, I roleplay.

Normally Paragon but I decided to try making a mercenary like Shepard that's more aggressive but rarely breaks down for anything. Jacob, Jack, Garrus, and Specks Shepard are getting along like bread & butter.
