Its been in development for quite a short time considering blizzards usual level of polish (I waited like 3 or more years for warcraft3). I just hope activision dont rush them and ruin it because it has to meet some really high expectations.

You forget Starcraft has a whole country behind it.

No. He means that, to the nation of South Korea, particularly in Seoul, Starcraft is better than sex or football. They have entire stadiums devoted to the game; Starcraft essentially is their national sport.

If the comment "Starcraft 2 was clearly rushed its all Activision fault!" doesnt pop up at least in the first 30 minutes after the game is released, BLizzard created a masterpiece!

But the world is filled with fanboys and whiners so...I'll say it will take 3 minutes for the first hate thread to appear complaing: "the menu is dumbed down for the console tards and its Activision fault cause Activision is a console fanboy and not a PC!"

Blizzard is as reliable for releasing games on time as Sony for releasing a cheaply priced game system...

I'd be mad if they released it before it was done. That's why I trust Blizzard more than any other company. They have never released a bad game and as long as they stick to their philosaphy they never will.

Valve is the same

except with FPS's not crappy RTS's and RPG's

When Blizzard is ready to release it, they'll release it. They don't want to release a shitty product, similar to how Valve does it.

Blizzard is terrible with deadlines, but their games tend to be quite polished when they do get released.

Blizzard is horrible with deadlines, like Valve, and much like Valve, when the games get released, they're actually good and well looked over for bugs.

Plus, the beta's coming out this summer, so the full game should come out Holiday Season.

I don't remember Blizzard ever giving even an estimated release period. Anyway, let them take their time. Starcraft was amazing, and after waiting ten years for a sequal, the quality needs to be high. Getting a bad sequal after this long wait would be terrible.

I don't know, but I'm hoping the beta for it will be released soon. I'm itching to play the Zerg right now.

Okay, so 2 years ago, I first heard about Starcraft 2 coming out. Naturally, I pre-ordered a copy of it, gleefully waiting for Blizzard to release it. I waited for about a year, then canceled my order for store credit. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to buy the game when it comes out, but I would still like to see it released at some point within my lifetime. And while I would rather that they take a bit longer to deliver a better game than to rush it to fit some unrealistic schedule. So, I was just wondering what you guys thought.

Since it's in Beta, probably a couple of months will pass before it's launch. The reason why they don't want to give release dates until the end of the testing, is because they want to make a bugless and balanced game. Being constrained by dead lines only gets work done faster, but not better.
