watching cartoons for five year old girls just seems strange, bizarre and creepy to me. Like Norman Bates having his mother's skeleton in the basement talking to him-creepy.
Then you my friend must be very new to the internet.

Actually, scratch that. - New to society.

We've been over why you're only partially correct here, but ignoring that for a sec, you still haven't explained why this is a bad thing (at least not without bringing your own personal tastes into the debate)
Why would he be new to society?

No, its a show for little girls. Its not objectively "bad", I just find grown men interested in it to be very creepy.
You know you never actually answered my next question; would you find a girl my age watching a show initially intended for boys creepy? Yes or no?

I answered your Ben 10 question, and I said I wouldn't care because I was under the impression that it was a show made for teenagers.

Well, fair enough. Personal tastes and all.

Still, on the creepy scale it's pretty tame compared to certain other stuff.

*cough*Fifty Shades of Grey*cough*
I don't know, I think college humor gave a pretty good idea of how people feel creeped out about the "hobby".

Hahaha, I would definitely be creeped out if I saw a old woman(like in her 60's) reading that at a bus station.

And then I asked you how you would feel about any show intended for boys, remember?

Not really, my 9 year old brother watches it and he's been watching it for years. Well then any other cartoon meant for boys
So yeah answer me that one.

As for Ben 10, that has been going on for years, right? Nope, can't say I would care that you watched it, your just a fan that has gotten older as the years have gone by.
But ponies have been out since the 80's havent they? I am sure they are older than me... I remember the adverts for the toys since I can remember! Lots of kids were subject to it as a kid... I myself had a little sister, and only having 1 TV and VCR in the house we took turns choosing movies... I was subject to a lot of girls stuff as a kid... It didn't hook with me, but some people it would have... especially if the series was revamped, and had humour for adults too!

I would easily return to a revamp of any shows that I used to like as a kid... Whether they were aimed at me at the time or not!

Best... Porno... ever! It is so funny to watch! And the songs are so damn catchy! :p

Then I guess I would say it depends on the intended age group. Its one thing if she is watching Ben 10, but its quite another if she is seriously watching Thomas the Train Engine (and nostalgia is not the cause of her watching it)

Sorry, I didn't grow up in the 80's. :/
The only thing I watched from the 80's was the movie about David Bowie being a German mythological king [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labyrinth_%28film%29] and a "sweet" transvestite play the Devil [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_%28film%29].

Maybe I wasn't clear so apologies. The age of my brother isn't relevant to what I'm asking or to the target audience of Ben 10. He's been watching it since he was five anyway.

You think My Little Pony is a show for 'five year old girls' yes? (It's not entirely true as has been pointed out but let's ignore that for now). You also consider a male my age watching it creepy, correct?

So then what if there was a parallel situation where a female my age started watching a show that you believe was intended for five year old boys? Would you find that just as creepy?

Ok... so you watched 2 movies from the 80's... great... what has that got to do with reliving past experiences from your childhood...

Unless you mean to say that you would watch a Labrynth or Legend sequel... well of course you would! That goes without saying!

I take your complete avoidence of my point as a defeat, and realisation that there is more to it than 'OMG people like stuff I don't... they be creepy!'

If a girl your age seriously starts watching Barney the Dinosaur or Thomas the Tank Engine, I would find it very creepy.

I would be more shocked to see my friends watching ponies. I've walked in on my friends watching porn plenty of times. No, I wasn't catching them in the act, they were just getting a kick out of some really depraved stuff.

My point was your 80s comment doesn't convince me that its not weird because I didn't grow up with it being a regularly spread thing. The only 80's media I have any contact with is Legend and the Labyrinth

Well at least you don't have a double standard with it like a lot of people who hate on MLP.

But whatever, I wasn't trying to change your mind or anything, if you find it weird that's your business. I was just wondering why is all.

It doesn't matter what decade it is... I only said 80's because that is where MLP is from... What about in 10 years time there is a revamp of the Powerpuff Girls? And it gets a large male fanbase who grew up with it... what then?

Also... what about the fact that MLP is written by adult men!? Is that weird to you too?

How about the fact that nearly all things for children... including things for young children are made by adults... still weird?

To be honest I think that you are weird, for having your only link to the 80s as 2 movies... Hell... There is tonnes of great media from the 80s... Your telling me you haven't even seen Die Hard!?

Neither. I don't really care if they watch either of them. Might leave the room if porn, though. Got to give a man his privacy.

Both...

Well he already came out that he is a brony and I was okay of it...then he came begging for me to watch it. I rejected him for a while then I said okay. Watched it...mweh.

If I saw him watching Porn I would be shocked, close the door and walk away.

Then next morning I would be normal. Nothing that bad.

Captcha: "Pandora's box"

The you guys opened it when MLP was introduced. Made a whole new kind of hate on the internet...I don't blame you guys, but it sucks people hate it because they say it is for kids. *sigh* People on the internet should be open minded. (I imagine some people are thinking, "Holy crap, this... coming from a Christian! *World explodes*)

If it was porn I would probably walk out of the room and just never speak of it ever.
It it was ponies I would sit down and watch it with them.

But I just had to click "I'm a pornstar and this offends me option."

The other contains my small collection of MLP figurines. I have yet to aqquire the blindbag Celestia and Luna and then it's going to be complete.

So yeah, I won't give a fuck what you are watching.
The Geek is a porno? I thought it was a documentary.

Also one day I'm going to get that filthy animal.
