(I'm only four hours in and desperately trying to avoid all spoilers as to the ending, HOWEVER...)
The sequence in which you fall down the mine shaft with potato-battery GlaDOS was basically my favorite thing to happen in a video game, ever. I love it, love it, love it. All of it.

The splitscreen Coop.

The level where you solve it by smashing into each other mid-air + the hug at the end were two beautiful moments of clarity. To think I was sitting there thinking for a good 15 minutes each when the answer was so obvious!

I love the part where a family got mad at the orphan remarks. That made me love portal 2 so much more

You're not alone. A moment ago I beat it for the first time too.

Absolutely everything was magnificent. Everything was leaps and bounds ahead of Portal 1 for my money. Brevity is nice and all, but when you have the dearth of potential that Portal brought on in terms of gameplay and characters, I can't help but want to see more, and it was The Dark Knight to Portal 1's Batman Begins in that regard.

It was just the right length for this kind of game, paced in just the right way, with the perfect amount of environmental variety...It was deviously challenging in just the right amount for my not-so-puzzle-oriented mind...

But the story and the way it told it...a psycho-scientific love story that was at once creepy, hilarious, sad, adorable, loaded with all sorts of unpretentiously presented subtext, and just incredibly fun, populated with some of the best developed characters I've ever seen in any medium.

I want a console Portal compilation that I can own separate from The Orange Box. Those games deserve their own disc release. In my Top 5 favorite games for sure. Up there with Metal Gear Solid in the "Can only be done in video game form" category, and that's the highest praise I can pay any videogame.

Really?

1. yes it was longer thats a GOOD thing, hell the length was perfect it it took me waaay longer than a single sitting

2. are you just saying that because you feel you have to? personally I find them hard to compare, I almost feel like the 1st one was a tutorial for this one (and what makes it "better" anyway? just because it was first?")

also they are different kinds of games, Portal 1 was never a full length game it was just filler, portal 2 was a stand alone product and so had to be of a certain quality

"still a very good game?" nah its fucking AMAZING!!!!

anyway I loved the endgame and where you see chells hands, makes her more "real" also love the ending, satisfying yet a little ambiguous

I totally agree, only reason i posted that was because there are more Portal 1 fan boys who will troll because they prefer that game, so think of it as a strategic post, I just wanted opinions and not people to break out arguing over which was better :p

Uh... pretty much all of it.

Although the game did kinda sag a bit in the middle.

But the ending made up for that, and then some.

The humor is awesome, I do love the whole trashing of your "birth parents"

I laughed at every single line.

Every. Single. Line.

I laughed at Wheatley. I laughed at GLaDOS. I laughed at Cave Johnson. I laughed at the little videos. I laughed at "Wheatley Laboratories". I laughed at the hilariously useless warning signs. I even laughed at the tiny display case that basically said that Aperture Science was born when a shower curtain salesman bought a mine and filled it with Science.

Whoever Valve hired, every comedian on Earth can learn something from them.

I know this probably makes me kind of a pansy, but I really, really like the murals. I think they're wonderfully creepy. And of course, Stephen Merchant is wonderful as Wheatley.

But has anyone noticed how Chell now has these really weird, staring eyes?

The puzzles and platforming was easy enough that even *i* could finish the game without having to result to "cheating". (looking stuff up.) So, since i'm not, what i'd consider... GOOD at platforming and only ok at puzzle games, this game was prolly a bit easy for some people. But I really liked it. Not too hard. But far from to easy. (I had a few head scratching moments.)

But I loved the humor in the game. It was easily the best part of the game. And prolly the only reason i'd ever replay it. I'm not a "chevio" person, I got it on the pc anyways so it's not like anyone would know my score, and once the puzzles are solved, well, there solved. But I'll prolly replay the game from time to time for a laugh.

The end song was good, but "Still Alive" was ALOT better IMO.

So for me, the humor.

The funny dialogue throughout was easily what I enjoyed best. The things wheatley would say to try to encourage you to follow him or do something he wanted was great, GLaDOS' insults were solid and Cave Johnson was perfect. If I had to pick something I'd say the funny dialogue/humor.

The spheres in your battle with Wheatley. The fact sphere had me in complete stitches, which never happens to me with games anymore. Though all three were great, especially during the whole "portal-on-the-moon" part.

When fighting Wheatley I really didn't expect the moon portal to work but when I saw the moon, I was like, hell, this would be awesome if it worked, and it did O_O

The dialogue and the writing and the acting and the epicness.

I loved looking around underground on my first playthrough, with the epic towering pillars of impossibility above and the trashed testchambers below.

But mostly the dialogue. Even if some of the humour felt like it was trying too hard.
